hehe yes i know i know .. that's why i posted that pic .. just a little tease hehe
Kurt just said what he thought, never had hair on his tongue and probably he simply triggered a string that was already inside them both regarding their sound and concept of music world .. Vs has already some signs.
they were not liking anymore how they were living the music .. they didn't want to say always yes anymore and decided to say no (like Stone, i guess, said) .. so no video .. ticketmaster boycott .. much more experimentation in the sound and on .. all things i appreciated a lot
so i think that Kurt's words were just the straw that breaks the camel .. he probably turned on a light that they already had.
i don't think at all he was the main cause of their career development
  2. bought it hehe
  3. My wife said she should divorce me (she was kidding - I think) for wanting to go to this concert. This is not because of money, time away from the family, or anything like that. She thinks me wanting to go see PJ for my 40th Bday is a bit lame - that I should think "bigger." I still love her but...

I'm going after two tickets on Saturday!
  4. Lame ? Bigger ?...hmmm... Tell her "Ok then, for my 40th,Im getting tickets for us to see PJ in Chicago."

    Hows that ? LOL
  5. Well played, Ed. Well played.

Is that one on a weekend?

  6. I think you're right on that one, Ron. I think they figured out that one on their own - and even though Ten and Vs sold better than all the rest, are they really THAT commercial?

I read somewhere that Cobain was a hypocrite himself where deep down he wanted to make hits - just in his own way.

I think Nirvana released two, fantasitic, five-star albums. They are both classics and are/were definitely influential, both musically and commercially. I cannot knock them one bit. However, I appreciate your comments, Ed, about Cobain's inability to be a good father...hey, maybe it was THAT disappointment in himself that truly led to his demise.

I won't even get started on Courtney Love - at least as a human being - although some of Hole's music did rock - if only because it was heavily influenced by Cobain, and later Billy Corgan.
  7. Friday..July 19th......maybe,a "weekend in Chicago dear, for my 40th ?""..and it "just so happens PJ are there, right when we are !!!"

    LOL
  8. For me,the PJ "sound" was gone..No Code and Yeild could have been epic recordings..listen to GTF studio..then any version of it live...night and day difference.

I suppose I could put Yield on but...I don't listen to PJ studio albums anymore - just bootlegs. Same goes for all my other "favourite" bands...Oasis, Radiohead, U2, etc...only recently my Soundgarden CD's have been played since they haven't given us much in the way of high quality live recordings.

To be honest, I wouldn't have become as big as a fan of PJ as I have over the past two years if it weren't for their bootlegs. The studio albums range from great (Ten, Vs, Vitalogy) to meh (the last couple of albums) but it's the live performances of most of these songs that really make it for me.

I agree Matt, and the reason you love the live performances so much is bacause its got that great loud, banging sound to it..like Ten had..before the demo, mumbled sounds of No Code Yeild and Binaural.
