1. Still no rumors in the US on the fall show, this if there will be one? Read here and there it likely will be on the West Coast or South?
  2. I suppose the time of year would be better suited for the South but its "hard to imagine" that they wouldn't stop in places like NYC and Boston. The new Barclay's Centre in Brooklyn has been mentioned a here and there - just speculation, however.

There's probably little need to comment on regulars like "Corduroy" and "Even Flow" ever time they make an appearance in the setlist.

Early comment on Virginia Beach: It's excellent. As much as I rave about the band's first five albums, I really like the live performances from the songs from Binaural. In terms of songs (but maybe not studio production), it is definitely #6 on my PJ album list. I've said before that it could interchange with Riot Act but I don't feel that way anymore. There are a few exceptions, of course, but for me most of the songs from Binaural are better than most from Riot Act - and the albums that followed.

Binaural has much better songs than Riot Act IMO.I agree the recordings were muddy,as Yield and No Code were,so the songs sound much better in a live setting.Of course,I blame EV for this.
  4. The 2000 boots were the first ones to come out,so they hold a certain place in history for me.I remember I would walk over to Tower Records on Broadway and W 4th st,and grab a couple of PJ boots each week.Starting when Europe 2000 was released.

    I just love those boots.

Lets finish up this leg for '06,and dive into Leg 2,from 2000.You really need to hear those shows from '00 Matt.

Its the big 5,and Binaural.....easy listening for this PJ fan....and hey, there is no Unemployable and Marker to trip up the sets...LOL
  6. ^It's so true. I'm just finishing up the Virginia Beach show (YLB playing) and there really hasn't been any songs I wanted to skip.

    I will miss "Alive," however.
  7. I feel the same way with the 2003 tour.I did not like Riot Act at all,and of course hated Bushleaguer.

I attended the "infamous" Nassau show,04.30.03.The show was fantastic, until that "encore".I left of course.I was done with PJ after that abortion.I was fucking furious....I wont go into one of my prolonged diatribe's.

I will say this,if it wasnt for Chris (the Brit),I would not have attended the 2 classic MSG shows in July '03 and I would have no question been done with PJ.Im glad he talked me into going,as he flew over with his family from London, for 3 weeks.I was vexed, but I wasnt going to screw my good British friend.
  8. ...and you enjoyed the shows, right?
  9. I'm listening to the Charlotte, NC (2000) show now..."Even Flow" sounds/sounded really good in 2000.

  10. The MSG '03 shows ? Yes,they were fantastic. After the uproar in Nassau,Stone and Mike hit the airwaves, to calm down some of the PJ fans, who had walked out of the Nassau show.I believe Stone said "That won't happen again." The band had a "sit down" with EV Im sure.

All I know is this,EV didn't try any of his bullshit at the Garden.

I cooled off,and that was that.

Do you want to review these 2000 shows ?

They are far superior to the 2006 gigs IMO.

That In My Tree from 08.06.00 I listened to just yesterday.

Yeah, I'll review them. I suppose I shouldn't get too ahead of myself in terms of listening. As I said earlier, I plan to keep my reviews a little shorter and than the ones I've been giving - I felt I was being too repetitive. Instead of going though the entire set, song by song, I think I'll simply mention the highlights (with some detail, of course) and, where necessary, low points. I will also give an out-of-five-star rating. I'll spoil the plot on my first review: Virginia Beach gets a five from this guy. Great, great show.
