Wow...PJ20 stuff! Now if they'd only get the entire shows out.

  3. Yes, time does fly - at a seemingly accelerating rate for that matter.
  4. I've listened to four (!) show from 2000 this weekend.

No burn out yet ...they're so good!

One thing I've noticed: fewer cover songs - a good thing for my tastes, anyway.
  5. I dont think you will burn out Matt. I have listened to those shows, over and over, since 2000/01. They are just so good, and again, its the material. Pre 2002. There wasnt a bad song in the lot

I listen to alot of early shows from DMB. Their sets during the 2000 tour were flawless.

    Ah,the good old days.

  7. Originally posted by RUMMY:I see your point, Kieran, but the sound quality on the Euro gigs isn't quite as good as the NA ones - and I have listened to a bunch of them already. From the two NA legs I have only listened to the two Canadian shows and the two Seattle shows in their entirety.

To be honest, I may be biting off more than I can chew and may simply still with the Ape-Man and Ed-Man shows.

you're going to miss some over the top gigs then .. your loss hehe
cough cough ... Forum .. cough ... best Jeremy? cough best Black? hehe
  8. Not to worry, Ron. I've listened to the two gigs in Italy. Yes, they are very good, as are the London ones.
  9. Matt i'm doing my homework hehehe .. and are you still sure with your rating??? do you need a little bit more time?
we're going to be in the opposite sides ...
  10. 2006-05-27 Tweeter Waterfront - Camden, NJ

Where the hell are we? NJ? Philly? Uhm a disoriented Eddie, Gone in preset to find a benchmark .. worrying .. but what comes in the next hours …
Master/Slave goes into the B3 with Boom taking Eddie into the venue, Wasted Reprise starts into Life Wasted .. good opening the band seem already warmed-up .. no time for chatting at this point, as usual,.. world over it’s a World Wide Suicide; again well tackled with a good toughness, Matt behind too.
Good start with 2 (and half) songs of the album suuposed to be promoted when Stone gives an Evolution to the night .. do the evolution and they do it quite well.
Animal next .. nice Mikey joking with his distorted notes all over .. he’s in a good mood .. great ; love how the people literally pull out the mic from Eddie.
Trying Severed Hand without the intro in this position? The intro is great in an opening, main set or encore, but in the middle loses something .. anyway still very good tune and well welcome .. and even more with this amazing transition to .. Corduroy!! Fantastic. .. you’re right Eddie absolutely nothing’s changed .. this is always a no-words-needed song.
Great first run indeed, don’t let us ruin by the marker, we can bear it and Fly to the next .. Given to Fly in the middle of Marker and Unemployable has not much sense and it’s easy to stumble .. right Eddie? Hehe.
But it’s a quite short moment as Lukin burst into at full speed and energy .. again a great transition into Not For You .. awesome one indeed in all its part .. start middle section Stone solo and .. tag .. intense and lovely Modern Girl.
Next another “tagged” song .. Daughter .. the shades go down the police man in a great way .. love how progressively Jeff sneak the WMA bites .. quite good participation of the crowd.
Test of chords announces that I Am Mine is coming and a Riot Act moment is always appreciated in having at least a spot in the set. Love the undulating flows of the song
Jeremy comes to speak in venue not at its best but still he’s always him.
Crowd welcome well Present Tense also doing fine taking again the mic for the second verse .. very good the progression towards the end of the song.
Matt beats up the tempo of what it seems the end of the main set with Mike again amazingly joking with its strings .. but it’s not over there’s space also for Porch and the band explode in the usual great long jam.
Crowd is invited to be part of the band and first encore is opened with people singing first verses of Better Man .. well done and well reprise by the band itself. The bitter sweetness of Come Back follows with a good interpretation, they’d probably better pulled the finale a little bit more.
Other sing along tune Small Town .. Boom background it quite well and he’s time should continue with Crazy Mary but it’s Last Kiss next after a long speech about the Innocent Project and introducing 3 cases as example of what that non-profit can. One on drums and another duetting with Eddie join the band in the song … lovely.
Alive to close this part of the set.
The explosive State of Love and Trust first of the second encore and it’s nothing else but .. explosive. The explosion doesn’t stop and what more blasting than .. Blood?? Eddie put his full throat in it … great!!!
Late Even Flow to continue the drawing moment .. Mike doesn’t miss his form yet at this appointment. Comatose is ok here taking advantage of the inertia of the previous songs and finally the boys take taste to drop the Leash and it fits so well in this encore. A bit shy at the start Rocking in the Free World to begin to carry people to the end (the guys of before on stage again) .. love both the solos with a light preference for the Stone’s.
Yellow Ledbetter to say bye to a great night indeed; it’s a top concert very close to the max; don’t play one of Marker or Unemployable (preferably the first) .. put Crazy Mary over Last Kiss (but it had its nice sense this night) .. a couple of gems in the main set and 1st encore and it would have topped the 5 stars

    Highlights: Lukin->Not For You/Modern Girl – Corduroy – Daughter/WMA – I Am Mine – Porch – Blood

Rating: 4 1/2 (high almost close to 3/4)
  11. Nice review, Ron.

Maybe I do need to revisit this show - and find the missing tracks! Who knows? Maybe I was going through a bit of burn out when I wrote it. Maybe I was having a bad day. In any case, I know I didn't enjoy this show very much.

Not to worry, however. My reviews for the final few shows become more favourable.
  12. it can happen different persons have different perceptions of a gig of course
