  1. Listening to the MTV gig from 03.16.92.........Black was so amazing that night.

    I also listened to the Gorge show from 09.01.05 last night.......just a fantastic show.The opening acoustic set must have been amazing to see.

    I really hope the 2 (only) summer shows bring something more to the table.Chris wanted to do Wrigley,but we are all going to my house in Boca for the summer.Just so happens DMB will be in WPB 07.19 and 20..same date as Chi-town..or he would have insisted we go......

    ...and here I am complaining about a 2.5-hour drive to London, ON.

    If I could only find some decently-priced tickets. Personally, I might consider buying a ticket for over $300 but I am sure that I won't be able to convince someone else to do the same.
  3. I've said it before...

    It'd be nice for songs like "Immortality," "In My Tree," and "Indifference" (that's three songs that begin with the letter "I") to make their way into these festival shows. The PJ standards/war horses are great but they could do a better job when choosing the rotated songs. I like songs like "Insignificance" (another "I" tune) and "Save You" but the first three I mentioned are WAY better choices to fill in the gaps.

    I agree, though. Play In My Tree and while they're at it, play Whipping.
  6. Poor "Whipping"...it barely gets played anymore.
  7. I love the studio version of 'Whipping'. The drums are so heavy and it sounds so bad-ass.
  8. Admittedly, I haven't listened to the studio version in ages - literally years! Live versions, a completely different story.

    As great as a song "Whipping" is, however, I would probably rank it only at #8 on Vitalogy. Shows what a solid album it is, I suppose.

  12. Nice. A ranking...

    Going back to 1994 (when I first heard Vitalogy) two songs immediately hit a chord with me - "Better Man" and "Corduroy." I realize that this isn't a very original preference but these two songs are true classics and I have always loved them - and always will love them. In fact, I put "Corduroy" at #2 on my all-time favourite PJ songs - right behind "Alive."

    Next has gotta be "Immortality" - this song is a true gem. I love the guitar solo and EV's final verse. Sooooooo good.

    In fourth place is "Not For You." Great, great tune, both musically and lyrically. The "Modern Girl" tag on he more-recent live versions puts it among their best.

    It gets a bit trickier after this but I'll have to go with "Last Exit" (great rocker) and then the polar opposites of "Spin the Black Circle" (probably the band's wildest song but sometimes not in the mood for the insanity of it all) and "Nothingman" (a beautiful ballad that, admittedly, for years I thought was a bit...soft. I don't feel that way anymore).

    I've already put "Whipping" at #8 and then would let "Tremor Christ" and "Satan's Bed" battle it out for the ninth and tenth positions. I think these are two good songs - just not GREAT ones.

    Like the rest of you, I have no need for any of the other "songs."
