I quite like it. I might make a playlist out of it on iTunes.

Obviously full of classics and cool rarities. A nice list.

It's really tough to choose just one "opener" - Release is a top 10 PJ tune for me, Oceans is from Ten so it's automatically a classic, while Sometimes and Long Road are beauties (and opened the two shows I've attended.) Of the Girl and Can't Keep should definitely get a mention and while I'm at it, I can't forget Wash - or even Hard to Imagine.
  2. I like using the 2000 tour songs for a mix since:
    1. The band still has a "edgy" sound/vibe.
    2. The lack of keyboards keeps things heavier/rawer.
    3. Fewer covers.

In fact, I recently made a mix of just the 13 songs from Binaural - I even included "Evacuation!" - using the 2000 bootlegs. It could represent "Disc 1" in my set and the others could be 2 and 3 (and 4, if necessary).

Maybe open disc 1 with Of the Girl.

Add Sleight of Hand to disc 2.
  4. Good grief.
  5. ...and I will NOT omit "Release" under any circumstances.
  6. LOL

Use Release on an earlier mix..from say '94 ??
  7. There's not enough boots from 1994 that merits making a mix. I feel that Atlanta and the Boston one are best left as they are.
  8. You can make a nice mix of the 2 shows.....
  9. I did just that about a year or so ago - we even discussed it, if I recall correctly. However, once it was done I didn't ever listen to it - and then those JWB remasters came out giving us a superior quality Atlanta show...

I have considered "mixing up" some of the great pre-1995 shows (heck, even doing one dedicated to only 1992) but in the end I don't bother.

It's different with the 2000-2012 shows. Having access to most of the shows via official bootlegs gives us more - much more - to work with.
  10. In case your curious, that 2000 Binaural-only mix looks like:
    Of The Girl
    Grievance
    Breakerfall
    God's Dice
    Nothing As It Seems
    Insignificance
    Evacuation
    Thin Air
    Sleight of Hand
    Rival
    Light Years
    Parting Ways
    Soon Forget

I suppose the list could use the venue for each song but when I made it using Nero, I forgot to make note of where each song was played.
  11. True, being that PJ have released basically every show for the last 13 years,I try to make my mixes different.

My 2000 mixes lean towards Binaural, the 2003 mixes I have made lean towards Riot Act.

But the tours like say 2005 and 2008 for example, where the band were just touring to tour,I lean towards the old classics.

By doing this,I make sure each of my mixes are different and dont have the same old tunes over and over and over.
  12. I think the fact that I'm only nearing the end of my second year of PJ bootlegdom might have something to do with my resistance to let go of old standards.

Maybe I should do one 2CD mix for 2000 that includes all of Binaural plus classics; one 2CD mix for 2003 that includes all of Riot Act plus yet-to-be-used classics; one 2CD mix for 2006 that includes all of Avocado (ugh!) plus still-yet-to-be used classics; and finally one 2CD mix from 2009 that includes all of Backspacer (another ugh) plus even-still-yet-to-be-used classics.

This obsession is starting to make me lose my sensibilities.

Maybe I should listen to some Muse or something.
