1. Time for a PJ list...

We recently ranked the songs of Vitalogy. How about we do No Code today?

    1. In My Tree (I love the heavy drums of the versions from the 2000 tour but also EV calm guitar in the 2003 performances.
    2. Hail, Hail (check out the Letterman performance from 1996 on youtube!)
    3. Sometimes (not played enough)
    4. Off He Goes (somewhat surprisingly, they've played it at both concerts I've attended)
    5. Present Tense (never gave it much of a chance until I heard it live - it's just great.)

    6a. Lukin
6b. Habit (the heavy combo - gotta be in the mood for them, however)
    8. Red Mosquito (only recently started to appreciate it)

    9. Around the Bend (a nice, quiet closer)
    10. Who You Are (never should have been a lead single - they band must not like it much since they almost never play it)

    11. Smile (not a big fan of the harmonica - many fans love it, however)
    12. Mankind (well, nice try Stone. Good riff but it wears thin quickly)

    13. I'm Open (I'm closed)
  2. I still have that No Code mix that you sent me, Matt. I think I listened to it once, once and half maybe. I think I'll get onto that tonight since I've been reminded of it's existence. Recently, I've been listening to Ten a lot, and picking out my favourites from Yield and Vitalogy - so I'm open to Pearl Jam at the moment. Now I have some songs to listen out for from your top five. I'll try to not allow your opinion on "I’m Open" to influence me though
  3. As Ed recommended not too long ago, there are some fantastic (songs from) No Code performances from the 2000 tour, as well.

Admittedly, I don't listen to the studio versions anymore.

We can do a Yield ranking tomorrow! That one will be tougher, for sure.
  4. I have no idea how long it has been since I listened to No Code. IMO,it is a terrible recording.

As far as the songs live, thats a different story. These are my favorite songs and best live versions....

Lots of similarities between our lists, Kieran.

  8. I love that version as well. The 2003 MSG version is great as well. As a matter of fact, watching it on youtube yesterday inspired me to make this list!

  9. I thought you might have chosen the acoustic/strings version from the 2010 N2 show at MSG.
  10. That's really a different version altogether .

    But I do love it.
  11. I like the Salzburg Lukin a lot because it runs into a classic version of NFY.
  12. I have been listening to a lot of shows from 2000. I just haven't been in the mood at all for the 06 gigs

Will have to rectify that soon
