1. Chicago is a top 5 show of the tour IMO.
  2. "Ed-Man"

Just wondering: With this show of the month, do we write a "full on" review for the entire performance (like we had been doing with those 2006 shows) or are we just going to discuss various aspects of the concert in separate posts? Or should we do BOTH?

In any case, "Release" is in the queue....and now I'll click "play."
  4. i'd say full review from which we could get hints of discussion
  5. Agreed.
  6. Whoa...we're getting too low on the "active topics" list again.

Question: Although PJ has played a whole whack of shows in Italy over the years (but not since 2010), how come they haven't played in Rome since 1996????
  7. I've listened to the 2000 Chicago show three times now and have pretty much finished my review. This said, I Ron, I will allow you to make the first post.
  8. I've moved on to the St. Louis show, by the way.

    It's outstanding, as well.

  9. Is this the first time you have listened to these 4 classic shows ?

They..IMO....are 4 of the best shows on the tour....and they are all in a row...amazing.......I rave/rant about Det/East Troy/Chi/St Louis a lot in the past on here.....
  10. In their entirety, yes.

One day I should go through the thread to find all of your accolades for these four shows.

How's KC by the way? I'm planning to listen to it next before taking a (short) break of the 2000 tour. What I'll be listening to, I'm not too sure. I just done want to burn myself out like I think I did with the 2006 bootlegs.

If Im making a live mix ,of older songs,I try to listen to versions as close to the release date as possible...but,thats just me...

While I was searching, I found this post of yours (from well over a year ago), Ed, about me making a best of 1990's mix. I thought it was somewhat funny given our recent conversations about me not including anything from Binaural in the mix.
  12. And this post was next:

Detroit (10.07),East Troy (10.08),Chicago(10.09 a top 5 gig from 2000,no question and in PJs top 10 all time).St Louis (10.11) is also fantastic, but I kept this to these 3 gigs in 3 straight nights.Jeremy, was actually played at all 3 gigs.

Detroit is rockin. This isnt a long show. But its a heavy, INTENSE gig.It starts off with Go,that should tell you something right there.Corduroy,Greivance into THE BEST VERSION OF State Of Love And Trust on this tour, and maybe all time...period.Tremor Christ,Last Exit (Jesus Christ Its Fucking Hot Up Here) straight into Animal,In My Tree (even with a flub I love it).I Got Id sounds solid,Even Flow is slamming and then a great version of Daughter (W.M.A.).Thin Air sounds great,as does RVM.STBC is off the charts wicked.NAIS gets all messed up in the middle.Ed blames himself. But,I still really like this version.Last Kiss and Parting Ways are perfect.Fucking Up closes this short, rocking gig.

East Troy.Ah,the infamous Ice Bowl gig.An unseasonably cold, 26 degrees, makes for a very unique outdoor show.Ed complains his wine is even getting cold.Of The Girl opens, into Hail Hail,Breakerfall,Animal and Corduroy.Solid versions of Faithfull,Off He Goes and Smile are played.Ed is very talkative during this freezing gig. This show ends early, with RVM as the last tune. The weather, obviously was the factor.A shorter than average gig,but it was just too cold.

Chicago. Not including Seattle 2,this is the longest show from the entire American tour.Simply an EPIC show here.Great setlist.Stone and Mike are on fire all night. An amazing version of Release opens, followed by rocking versions of Corduroy,Grievance,Gods Dice then Animal. An intense version of the rare Red Mosquito is played. In Hiding,MFC,Lukin>Not For You sound brilliant. The Man Trilogy (Nothingman,Betterman,Leatherman) are played.Black,Parting Ways, Sleight Of Hand,Crazy Mary,RVM.

Baba O'Riely ends this incredible show.

A great 3 night run by this fantastic live band.If you are only looking,to listen to a few shows, this is,without question, some of the best.

I'll stop the creepy behaviour now.
