  3. If there's one PJ album (beyond the studio albums, that is) that an "emerging" fan should get, it's got to be the Benaroya Hall set.

    I really like this album because of it's mood - it's obviously not like any other show due to it's unplugged nature. Also, many songs that I don't really give a lot of thought in the usual PJ bootlegs (songs like "Around the Bend," "Lowlight," "Thin Air," "Thumbing My Way," and "All or None" - they tend to bring the energy down in an intense PJ show) come off very, very, very, very well in this performance.

    Best sounding live release ever. The acoustics are unreal.

    One of these shows you think wish I was there, like with Pinkpop 92.
    And it came with the highly collectable vinyl, which I don't own by the way.

    I suppose a nice "companion" to the BH set is CD1 from Mansfield 3, 2003. There are some very nice versions of songs on that one that aren't on BH, namely "Long Road," "Sometimes," "All Those Yesterdays," "Footsteps," and "Indifference."
