  1. Ha! The reason I'm taking my brother-in-law is to keep my wife from thinking I haven't gone off my rocker!!!! (I'm not one to go to out-of-town places, midweek, by myself),

    Let's say I do pay, say...$250x2=$500 for the tickets. I really have no issue paying $250 for myself if it's what I HAVE to pay (if waiting a little longer saves me some money, then I will). I figure we'd spend at least $100 for his b-day gift - probably more - and I said to him if I could get tickets it would be my gift to him (sound a bit cheesy but in context it's okay.)

    Obviously I'm trying to talk myself into this but I must be loving the drama that I've created around this whole event.

  3. Well, the venue only holds about 10,000 - about half the size of say, MSG or the ACC. That's said, they are in section 307 (row K!), which is in the back corner of the arena...

    (i just made a cd of Bocelli for my mum hehe)

    that prize (plus the trip i guess) for that seats would be a No for me aside of some "extreme" occasions (even though less extreme of the one Sergio expressed) .. and i don't think this is the case.
    ok 2 spare shows could be "special" but i see them as a way to "keep calm" the fans .. i would keep money for an eventual double date in the near future

I know this is a massive risk considering it is a two hour travel to London, but why don't you get to the arena about half an hour before Pearl Jam go on stage, and try to haggle to with scalpers. At Bruce Springsteen, I witness a couple get two tickets for £20 each. They start getting desperate to sell tickets so they will start selling them cheap.

    I support what Kieran said. There are always scalpers outside the venue (or even people who bought an extra ticket for someone that couldn't make the concert, and they just want to get rid of it without any profit), and tickets start getting cheaper and cheaper as the show hour gets closer. It's the best option. I know a friend who made it to the U2010 San Sebastian show for 15€ - with a ticket that was 85€ face value. He bought his ticket 10 minutes earlier to the show and got to his seat as Stingray Guitar was starting. True story.
  7. I appreciate the comments about getting to the show without tickets and then buying them from scalpers (in person) - I used to do this quite often when I was younger. However, I got somewhat "burned" in 2001 when I tried to see a U2 Elevation show and there was only a couple of scalpers outside the arena. They were asking for about $250 a ticket (which I thought was crazy 12 years ago!) - and the show had already began!

    Regrettably, my friend and I did not purchase the tickets (went to a bar instead) and I regret it to this very day.

    If the show was in Toronto, I'd take your (Kieran's and Sergio's) advice but I don't think I can bring myself to drive a relatively long distance without anything.
  8. That's another piece of info I didn't have - I thought it was in your hometown or quite close. Driving a lot of miles without having anything granted is crazy indeed.
  9. that will be my tactic for Bon Jovi next saturday .. but the stadium is very close to my home so almost 0 effort and who cares if won't make it ... but ....

  10. I think about it over the weekend and make by decision by the end of the month.

    Hopefully the tickets don't end up getting MORE EXPENSIVE!
  11. I did not realize they were playing in such a small arena, hence the $$$ demand for tix.

    I would wait it out longer..there is still a few weeks...prices will drop Im sure...
  12. Compared to what the Wrigley tickets are going for these ones seem relatively cheap.

    I will late a little longer but I may crack as the uncertainly has made me a little crazy. I'm getting quite obsessive about the whole thing and tend to be checking stubhub every hour.

    Not good.
