  1. One of my favourite moments of the night was the performance of "I Got Shit." A great performance of a classic song - one of my favourites, for sure. In fact the rest of the main set was just great. I certainly wasn't expecting "In Hiding" (a good one for everyone - not too popular but not too "lost") and it was cool to get the "Lukin"/"Not For You" pairing - with the "Modern Girl" tag, no less. And who's going to complain about closing the main set with "Black" (the entire crowd absolutely loved this one) and "Porch?"

    I suppose a "complaint" - no, let's call it an "observation" - that I might make is that the main set seemed quite short - by PJ's standards, anyway. Also, another "observation" I started to make was that there was quite a bit of overlap between the songs at this show and the show I saw nearly two years ago (Toronto, N1) - obviously this is merely a coincidence or "luck of the draw" but I not gonna lie to you, I wanted some different ones.

    I can be a spoiled brat sometimes.
  2. I went for a "break" during the encore and had to rush back to hear "Last Exit" - a great one to hear.

    "Last Kiss" does very little for me. However, I must definitely be in the minority on this as its performance was one of the biggest singalongs of the night.

    They quieted things down with "Parachutes," (didn't expect to hear that one!), "Man of the Hour," (I really enjoyed this performance) and "Just Breathe" (as expected). To be honest, while "MotH" was playing I was thinking to myself, "This song kicks the shit out of 'Just Breathe'" - one man's opinion.

    A nice acoustic version of "Daughter" - the band joined in during the second half of the song. You know me and I was really hoping for the "It's Okay" tag - I didn't get it. Booooooo.

    I really like "Unthought Known" - and so did the crowd. I can see them playing this one quite a bit during the upcoming tour. The place erupted when "Do the Evolution" was played to close out the first encore. Gotta love the spotlight on the crowd after EV sings, "Here's my church I sing it the choir."

    Encore break (for me that is as I have to teach some math for a bit. My students are getting a lot of "independent study" time today)
  3. I knew when EV said that Stone was playing the bass and Jeff was playing the guitar that "Smile" was set to open the encore. Like with "Last Kiss," I'm in the minority of not being a huge fan of this song. It was interesting, however, to watch the crowd lap it up.

    Maybe the biggest inclusion of the night was "Brain of J" - I certainly didn't see this one coming. For me, this one's right up there with hard-driving songs like "Go," "SOLAT," and "STBC." Nice.

    You'll never hear groan about them performing "Better Man" and "Alive" - two of my all-time favourite songs. No "Save if for Later" on this night, however. Also, I knew the end was near.

    I agree that "RITFW" is very played out. I heard it at my last show and wasn't too interested in hearing it again. The rest of the crowd didn't deem to mind, however. The house lights were on during this song and I feared that this would end the night...

    ....but no! Would it be "YLB?" Nope. When I saw Jeff bring out his standing bass I knew I was going to get one of the songs I was really hoping for: "Indifference." There's so many great things about this song that I won't get into today. In any case, it's one of the band's most underrated songs.

    Great show.

  10. I was so happy for you Matt when they played indifference. I was following the set and rooting against Yellowledbetter fir the first Time in a while. Sorry you got allot of repeats but in one show you could get 10 songs you've never seen before. Just keep going to see them! And don't turn down any shows near you or you'll regret it.
