1. Melbourne 98 is good as well. Last shows before Jack Irons left. He plays Yield songs very different then Matt. There is a great radio broadcast one.

  2. With Grohlasaurus on drums during 'Rockin' in the Free World'. That is indeed a fantastic show.
  3. Pinkpop 92, Unplugged, Chicago 92, Drop in the Park 92, Vegas 93, Atlanta 94, Orpheum 94, Melbourne 95, Berlin 96, Seattle 98 and Melbourne 98 are great. Also any of the Bridge School shows or TV appearances are always nice. Forgive me I am forgetting a few
  4. There's a few 2006 shows that are highlights, especially the Italian ones.
  5. Another great site is wegotshit.blogspot.com.

Pinkpop 92, was in the army that year, couldn't get off unfortunately, but what a show it was, one of the best pinkpops ever. Soundgarden was there too, The Cult.
  7. Takes a long while right with the supposed 2nd Seattle date.If it is happening.
  8. There are many great shows available from 1992 - PInkpop indeed being one of the best. However, you can overlook Moore Theatre, Drop in the Park, MTV Unplugged...

    so good.
  9. I can't believe , next month it will be 4 years already , since Backspacer was released.

I have to say, I haven't listened to this disc in ages. I liked it a lot when it came out, but after maybe 6 months I grew tired of it.

I decided to listen to it this morning on my jog in Battery Park. Backspacer has quite a few average to below average tunes on it IMO.

That's too many when theres only 11 tunes and its only 36 min long.

Gonna See My Friend..... Average tune

Got Some. Average at best. why are they still playing this ?

Fixer. Good. I like the music... But I'm so sick of it..no staying power for me and way too POP sounding for PJ ..... hey hey hey Hey. "When something's broke let me put a little fixing on it ". ?!? Ouch that's bad. Similar to Get on your Boots ,good music. Terrible lyrics

Johnny Guitar. Not good. Actually painfully bad

Just Breathe. A classic. Love it.

    Amongst The Waves. Good tune

Unthought Known. Good tune. A bit overplayed in the sets though. Don't need to hear this one anymore

Supersonic. Not good. A filler if there ever was one. I still can't believe they played this below average tune at the IOW....

    Speed of Sound. Good tune

Force of Nature. Good tune ,like this a lot actually

The End. Love it ,for me this is the crown jewel of Backspacer.

I hope Lightning Bolt is better then Backspacer

    Thoughts ?
  10. I think its an average album, i dont hate it all but i dont love it.... So far we heard a rocker, a slow one, and a mid tempo from LB and I love all 3 songs so my feeling is it will be better than Backspacer.
  11. Gonna See My Friend is not average! Admittedly it wasn't that great live but the studio version rocks. Vedder's voice is heavy as is the music. Probably one of my favourite songs of the album.

Got Some and The Fixer are played way too much live. Johnny Guitar isn't brilliant, I'll give you that.

Just Breathe is slightly overrated in my opinion. It's a beautiful song but it's too timid for a Pearl Jam tune.

Amongst the Waves and Unthought Known - especially the latter - make it a great middle section for the album.

Supersonic is alright, but yeah it is a bit of a filler. The last three tracks just don't do it for me. The End is also overrated.

Hopefully Lightning Bolt is worth the wait.
  12. FasterLouder reports that Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder and Crowded House’s Neil Finn will be contributing a track to a new Hunters & Collectors tribute compilation. Vedder has covered “Throw Your Arms Around Me” live before so this could be the track they’re covering, but the tracklisting has not been unveiled yet.
