1. The 2nd time I got back into PJ was at the infamous MSG N1 show..07.08.03.

I have mentioned many times how furious I was with the band , after walking out of the Nassau gig 04.30.03.

I was done with PJ...but my friend Chris was coming over from London for the 2 shows..so I reluctantly attended N1. The show was amazing, EV behaved, and that was that for me...I was hooked again...

There are shows from 2000 that were much better then this show IMO...Milan and Chicago etc...but this show from 2003 has great meaning for me....

This show can not be topped.....

If there is one show I hope the release from their "vault," it is without a doubt this one.

  3. Why did you call it infamous? Did something happen (aside from EV's bad haircut) at this show? Admittedly, I've only listened to it once or twice and never watched the show in its entirety.
  4. Because fans (including the band themselves) have said this is one of PJs best shows ever.

EV has gone on record saying this was a top show for this band.

    Got this from www.Twofeetthick.com

Ed mentions that the staff at the Garden told him that they have only seen the stage rumble that hard in three shows: Grateful Dead, Iron Maiden (at which point Mike plays a quick riff from ‘Number Of The Beast’) and Bruce Springsteen (which elicits a major cheer).

Ed says it will cost them $14,000, but that they will break curfew and keep playing (nearly three hours), going until almost midnight. Stellar show with the crowd wild (HUGE fan club turnout) and the band on fire.
  5. There's another thread going here about concert tickets and it got me thinking: Will it be difficult (due to extremely long line ups) to get my 10c tickets on the day of the show? How much "extra" time should I give myself to i) ensure I'm not late for the show and/or better still, ii) not wait in line at all?
  6. Go early..I always show up by 5 or so....the later you go, the more crowded it will be.
  7. Got it: Get the tickets and then on over to a nearby pub.

Still no word on the opening band yet????

It depends on a) How big is the venue, b) How many ticket offices are and c) What time do they open.

Doing a wild guess of a 7.500 venue, with just one office and opening at 4PM... I would be there at 3:30. And indeed, get the tickets and hit a pub until show time (or opening band time)
  9. I think the place hold about 18000. Not everyone will be getting "will call" tickets but I have no idea how many the PJ fansite sold.
  10. Read that Mudhoney is going to open in Portland
  11. Well maybe I'll get a second crack at them (Mudhoney) this time around.

We were running late back in 2011 and missed them - this is the first time I've admitted this for fear of Ronnie's wrath!
  12. I've just listened to Immortal in shuffle mode, and I've thought (again!!) that it always reminds me to The One I Love by R.E.M. Here's a mashup:
