I could live with that in Brooklyn....

My anticipation for brooklyn shows is through the roof. Less than a month...
  2. The 2 Brooklyn shows are going to be off the charts insane. My friend Chris from London, said he knows of 4 other Brits traveling over the pond for these gigs. PJ forums have been a buzz about these 2 shows since July.

Many a PJ fan will be heading into NYC for these 2 shows......huge anticipation for that weekend
  3. Any chance a few of the knowledgeable PJ guys here could write me out a list of the 50 or so songs that I've got a chance of seeing played when I see them in a few months? Obviously excluding the new album

Any help would be great, cheers guys
  4. dude you're used to Bruce ... it's a pretty "weird" question here too
their last European mini tour (fuck em) counted much more than 100 songs in 12-13 gigs

anyway giving some fixed point .. Even Flow, Alive, Better Man and The Fixer (i really hope not anymore) and think 4-5 spots taken by the new songs
pick the first 3 albums and uhm add lets say ..
    hail hail
    given to fly
    do the evolution
    nothing as it seems
    world wide suicide
    life wasted
    inside job
    just breathe
    the fixer
    come back
    unthought known
    wishlist
    long road
    state of love and trust
    yellow ledbetter

but be sure you could get many others instead
  5. warriors come out and play ... (one boot for who guess the quote ... old men excluded hehe)
    beware y'all hehehe

Yes I know, but there's no way I can learn PJ's catalogue like I can Bruce's - that's taken many years. Bruce and U2 are the two bands I know every song of, only due to years upon years of listening haha. So I just wanted a list of a few songs to know that they might play, and if I get any mega rarities (like Gotta Get That Feeling or Frankie) well so be it.

Thanks for your help man, love the first three albums and know the first two anyway, so that narrows the list a little.
  7. Ron, you need to add:

    I Got Shit
    Present Tense
    IN MY TREE
    Off He Goes
    MFC
    Faithfull
    Brain of J
    In Hiding

    ...somebody stop me!
  8. ...and Sometimes!
  9. Cheers man
  10. Being practical, their greatest hits (rearviewmirror) from 2003 is a great place to start.
  11. sad to say, i decided to cancel my pre-order today.

i've been loving this band since the Ten days, but the last album never got me (haven't listened to it properly since the release) and now all these mediocre songs from the new album hasn't triggered me half the way the previous albums did.

sorry folks, guess i'm a fading star when it comes to PJ's new music.
  12. Well, I suppose that we all have our limits.

As hard as I try, the second five PJ albums will never "affect" me the same way the first five did. For any band, It's always comes down to a matter of taste as to whether or not their earlier music is better than their later music. However, the 1990's were THE decade of music FOR ME and Ten through Yield are soundtracks to a more impressionable time in my life.

All of this said, the past four albums still have some great tunes (especially Binaural) and I am hoping to find at least a few gems on Lightning Bolt.
