    It's a great song, indeed. One of my longtime favourites, as well. Why they left it off Ten has sort of baffled me over the years. It, along with State of Love and Trust, always makes my "The Songs of Ten - Live!" compilations.

    I hope you're right! It's early in the tour but it looks like They're playing an "opener" in the second or third slot. Basically just because they're opening with a new song doesn't ruin your chance of seeing one of the 5-7 true PJ openers which I think is cool. Can't wait to read your full review

  3. I won't! Hopefully they 'll find themselves in Toronto next year - these road trips all in one night are wearing me down a bit.

    I still need Release and some of the deeper cuts from Ten and Vs to make my "trainspotting" list complete. Oh, I need In My Tree and Spin the Black Circle, as well.

    Dam, I wish I went to the Night 2 show in Toronto two years ago!

    State never clicked for me but Breath is damn awesome.


    I'm listening to RVM and well, it's also one of my favs. It has to be crazy live!!

    Pendulum works quite well as an opener. As as I was to hear Corduory when I did, I was hoping they'd play a couple more of the slower ones as a warm up.

  7. To be honest, it took me quite a while to get into SOLAT. I really appreciate it now but for YEARS I deemed Breath to be a way better tune.

    Lmao! Everyone on the PJ board was simultaneously praising the set and complaining about the lack of Vs material as the main set unfolded.

    SOLAT is great Breath is just....OMG. Especially live.
  10. I'm excited to hear how the new songs sound live. Looks like two good setlists as normal, especially the encore of the first night is great.
  11. My song-by-song synopsis:

    Once again, my reserved floor seat was right beside Kille, the head light tech. To be honest, she didn’t seem very happy last night. Did not crack a smile once. All business, I suppose.

    1. Pendulum - Great opener. It really had a Release-esque feel to it. Crowd seem to really dig it.
    2. Low Light - Admittedly, one of my lesser favourite songs from Yield but it was the first time I’ve heard it live so it was a welcome inclusion.
    3. Sometimes – What???? I was (happily) shocked when they broke into this mini-classic. I love this song.
    4. Corduroy – When “forced” to choose, I list this as my second favourite PJ song. I’ve always loved it and always will. They played it traditionally again, not messing around with the “everything has chains...” tempo of the song.
    5. Lightning Bolt – A very good song from LB. Lots of energy and well-placed.
    6. Mind Your Manners – After speaking briefly to the crowd, the band launched into this well-received new song. It’s still no Spin The Black Circle or Brain of J but I’ll take it over Comatose or Got Some any day. (More on these two later.)
    7. Do The Evolution – I’ve said before that this classic may be a bit overplayed but they nailed it on this evening. Additional note: My guest/30-year-old brother-in-law asked me in this was one of their new songs! D’oh!
    8. Immortality – THE highlight of the/my night. The band seemed to be out of sorts for a few minutes before they started in on this absolute classic. I was so happy to hear this one. They even included the little intro where MM picks a few extra notes.
    9. My Father's Son – Unfortunately, the lowlight of the night. Not necessarily because they messed up the beginning but the crowd just didn’t seem to dig this one.
    10. Even Flow – Classic. Crowd loved it. You could see some diehards around the arena a bit “bored” by it. Maybe I was just looking for them, however.
    11. Swallowed Whole – I thought this one sounded quite good and the crowd seemed to appreciate this one.
    12. Sirens – You could see the ladies (and gentlemen) singing away at this one all throughout the arena.
    13. Once – NICE! A great way to kick it up a notch after two new, slower songs.
    14. Comatose – No thanks.
    15. I Got ID – Yes, please! One of my favourites. EV tells a quaint (probably made up) little story about how the song got its name before playing it.
    16. Infallible – Maybe my favourite song on LB. Sounded great to me.
    17. Present Tense – I would say at this point, this may have been the spot where the entire crowd seemed to come together in the concert. A magical tune.
    18. State of Love & Trust – The energy is kept up with this gem.
    19. Porch – Great timing for this one. Another crazy jam that sometimes I like, sometimes I do not. On October 12, 2013, I liked it very much. EV did the reflect-the-light-throughout-the-audience-with-his-guitar thing during the solo.

    20. Off He Goes – Love it. I can’t believe I’ve had the pleasure of hearing this at three of the four shows I’ve attended.
    21. Yellow Moon – Great song. Good spot for it. However, it seemed a bit too new to a good chunk of the crowd.
    22. Future Days – The new Just Breathe. I think these two songs will be played together
    23. Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town - sung to the audience at the back of the stage. Always a crowd pleaser even though it might be a bit overplayed.
    24. Rats – An extremely cool song to have in the set. The crowd lapped this one up.
    25. Got Some – Got nothing. I’ll say no more.
    26. Rearviewmirror – Classic. Like during Present Tense, the crowd seemed to be one during this exceptional performance.

    27. Go – Highlight #2 of my night. I wanted to hear this one almost as much as Immortality. Such a high energy song.
    28. Alive – I’ll NEVER complain about hearing this one for the umpteenth time (well, 4 out of 4 shows in my case). I loved it and so did everyone else. Crazy note: I must have watched a WW2 video recently because the repeated “YEAHS” in the crowd reminded me of a certain mob of hundreds of thousands of people that are now considered to be one of the evilest group to ever walk the face of the earth - which is kind of ironic because PJ and their fans aren’t anything close to being Nazis! As I mentioned before, this is a “crazy” note on my part. Too much pot in the air last night, I suppose.
    29. Baba O'Riley – Although I’d rather hear an original, this is the cover I wanted to hear. Thank goodness they chose this over RITFW.
    30. Indifference – I was sincerely expected the show to be done or hear YLB. I can’t believe I’ve now heard this twice this year. It been said on the 10c before but this song should not be played with the house lights on – takes away from its overall mood.

    So all the best to any of you who will be seeing them in the near future. Even though I was semi-spoiled this year because I got to go to two shows, I can’t help feeling a little sad not knowing when I’ll see them again. That was the nice thing about after the London show – I knew I had Buffalo in less than three months. If I live on the Eastern part of the US, I’d be taken next week off and seeing 2X3 shows – and also getting ready to sign the divorce papers that my wife had prepared.
