Im good with it being played, as its from the new release and all..but it didn't have to open both gigs IMO.

And I was a bit annoyed that Porch GTF and Evolution were repeated along with Alive.

The sets were great but imagine if Animal Red Mosquito Habit and Jeremy were played instead of the 4 classic repeats ??
  2. You're right. But I can't help to think back to the audience response to those 4 songs. All of them killlled that night. When they started GTF I was a little annoyed but as soon as the chorus kicked in I changed my mind. The whole place was jumping up n down. If it was a bad audience I woulda been really pissed but the crowd made those songs worth repeating.
  3. Can't see what's wrong in repeating 4, 6 or even more staples that simply work and are fan favorites. We've discussed this to death regarding U2, and even though Pearl Jam's audiences are a little different, there are still a lot of % of the audience that are casual fans and wouldn't be overally satisfied if they got a set purely consiting of new songs plus rarities. I include myself among them. I would be PISSED if I didn't get Alive, Better Man, RVM, Do The Evolution or some others at my show. And I suppose there would be a lot like me in the audience. Not everyone is a die hard or want to get 10 deep cuts at their shows. I don't.

You're right in a sense but its amazing, I feel like "most " of the casual fans have been weeded out over the years because of the craziness of their sets. I mean , when they busted out "Black Red Yellow" at Msg in 2010 the crowd went crazy. Can't say the same when I saw U2 do Zooropa. It' absolutely was a dud with my audience. And Zooropa is an album track! Not an obscure b side. At the end of the day you can never please everyone. I would of preferred those other songs you mentioned Ed but who cares. Like i said my initial reaction to those repeats were uggghhh until I fed off the unbelievable crowd energy.

I understand but Im saying flip Alive for Jeremy as both are hugely popular classics...Evolution GTF and Porch are great tunes, but IMO Animal is better, and actually more popular. Not for You is another classic that wasnt played. In My Tree as well.

Better Man is probably the bands biggest song and they usually do not play it both nights on a 2 night stand
  6. In my tree would have been unbelievable!!!!!!
  7. I have said for years there are bands like PJ and DMB that are worth going numerous times to see live as their sets are so different each and every night......their sets are infamous for this reason...few if no repeats.....thats their appeal.

  8. I agree....the shows were great ... but I didnt need to hear back to back 10 min versions of Porch when so many classics could have been played...

Im nit picking no question.....and PJ spoil me
  9. I agree with you 100% on the four tunes you've mentioned, Ed. Animal, NFY, Jeremy, and IMT during night #2 would have made for a "perfect pair" of shows.

Now we gotta get Garden, Deep, and GG - and maybe, Tremor Christ and Satan's Bed. I won't hold my breath for WMA.

    Speaking of Breath...

    Have fun (again!) tonight!

You'll definitely get some new tunes tonight - it's Philly!

My prediction: Getaway makes it debut.
  11. Wtf is up with Getaway? So strange.
