What I meant was, I know just as much about Pearl Jam as someone who likes U2 coming here would know. Meaning, I've heard their "greatest hits" numerous times, like them, don't really own any of their albums apart from Ten and VS, and don't really know much about the band other than what they say on the PJ20 movie.

Let's be real here, an average U2 fan coming here compared to what we superfans know about U2 is a pretty similar comparison, maybe even more greatly differentiated.

Oh, yeah, of course. I get you now. The vast knowledge about PJ that EDDMB, Rummy and others gather here can only be compared to those at the Bruce Springsteen topic... And to us U2 geeks of course I find it hard to be a super-geek of more than one or two bands at a time though (in my case they are U2 and Muse).
  2. 1. Ed, it is nice to see that you are listening to the 2003 boots...the tour that...challenged you - understandably, of course.

    2. Ron's name should always be added to the "vast knowledge" list - for the most part, it was him and Ed that have got me where I am today. It really has taken attending two shows this year for me to feel like I can remove my self proclaimed "poser" status. I had the opportunity to attend so many shows over the past dozen years but foolishly passes on most of them. Most of my knowledge has now come from a lot of hard "work" and research.

So true about geeking out on no more than two bands at a time. Over most of my life, it has been U2 and someone else. Admittedly, nowadays it's usually PJ and someone else, be it U2, Muse, Soundgarden, etc.

I worked in Long Island fir 3 years and without stern I woulda went insane. He kept me sane during all those drives back and forth! I still listen constantly but damn he saved me during that time! Rangers are looking better! We'll see.. Can't wait for our captain to come back. Anyway back on topic!

    PJ are amazing.

  10. Sounds like a great idea. We probably won't have these 2013 shows on boot for a while so why not go way back!

Ronnie has an incredible knowledge of many artists.

  12. Nick, I know you're joking but I definitely need to recognize your contribution to this thread and my own fandom of PJ.
