1. She's the one who got me into the whole music/concert scene and I've just taken it a step further myself. But mum's generally the first person I talk to about going to shows or getting tickets and things. She's seen them all and it all started with Bruce back in his hayday in 85! Bowie, Neil Young, Bruce, AC/DC etc, a lot of bands who I only wish I could have seen back in the day

But she still doesn't like Pearl Jam (mind you, I think she only thinks they are grunge and screamo/heavy from the 90s- not the band who can sing Better Man and Nothingman and Daughter etc)

My mum is as keen on Bruce Springsteen as I am on U2 and Bruce, she's heading to four shows in three cities in Feb, but she's not keen on PJ. So I'd have no company haha.

I would stay a little longer in Melbourne if there were sports on, but in January, we have very little. If the AFL, rugby or rugby league was on I'd stay around to catch a bunch of games, but cause they're not, I'd just be there for about 24 hours. And plus, my current concert schedule is hectic enough as it is!

    Current list:

2 December - Fleetwood Mac cancelled
    10 December - Muse
    13 December - Paul Kelly
19 January - Big Day Out - Pearl Jam, Blur, Arcade Fire
    11 February - The National
15 February - Bruce Springsteen, Hunters & Collectors
16 February - Bruce Springsteen, Hunters & Collectors
    19 February - Bruce Springsteen
    22 February - Pete Murray
    26 February - Bruce Springsteen
17 March - Queens of the Stone Age
    17 April - Bluesfest - John Mayer
18 April - Bluesfest - Jack Johnson, The Doobie Brothers, Gregg Allman, Gary Clark Jr.
19 April - Bluesfest - Dave Matthews Band, John Butler Trio
    20 April - Bluesfest - Passenger
21 April - Bluesfest - Dave Matthews Band, Elvis Costello, Gary Clark Jr.

    I see your attending 2 DMB gigs....nice......

John Mayer I saw at WPB in SEPT.

    He was great

  3. Yeah they're playing the same festival (Byron Bay Bluesfest) twice and I'll be there all five days. Looking forward to seeing them twice actually. Always wanted to see John Mayer too and the festival was a perfect excuse to see him too
  4. 2013 NA bootlegs are coming soon: Beginning Friday, Nov 15 they play a show (Pittsburgh, I suppose) on Sirius and then the show will be available in the 10c shop the following Wednesday.
  5. I wonder what their plan is for the two summer shows?
  6. Exciting newsletter!!
  7. I guess we can NOW start organizing the bootleg club!
  8. they will also do Argentina and Chile
  9. Just like PJ earlier this year, I guess.
  10. I've decided that I'm going to see Pearl Jam in Melbourne on January 24 as well. I've just realised I have 61,000 Qantas frequent flyer points and that flying to Melbourne will only cost me 20,000 points plus $60 for taxes and booking fees. So $185 for the ticket, $60 for flights and $40 for accomodation is $285, plus $15 for public transport puts me at $300. Food and drink will obviously cost more but not a lot.

Me realising I had frequent flyer points that I can use for the flights has made this very doable!
  11. A few items of note in this news is that a show not technically included in the Lightning Bolt tour is the Wrigley Field show, which was shortened due to inclement weather. One would assume the run of shows begins with the recent tour opener October 11 in Pittsburgh, PA.
