When you're there the shows are unbelievable. Try to remember that not many artists are under the microscope with every live show like PJ is. They put all their mistakes out by releasing every show with no cover ups or editing.
My remarks are totally based on years of bootlegs i have. Just seems that the new songs are a little more complicated and maybe that took away from the one they have done so long. Plus as you get older you do forget and maybe get a little sloppy and have a little bit tuffer time with concentration. I know as a musician i have to prepare a lot more in my early 40's then when i was in my 30's. Your mind plays tricks on you.
And going to shows you never hear the little mistakes like you do listening back with a perfect mix.
I remember going to Atlanta March 2001 Elevation Tour thinking they nailed it. (which they did) only to hear bootleg Sb recording years later and thinking, wow they hit some bad notes and Bono mumbled some lyrics. All good
