...and yes, I am sure the fans in NYC are great (I "know" two of them who are very passionate about the band and am sure there are more)...Toronto fans are pretty solid (I guess) but I would like to witness (in person) a show in Brazil or Argentina (or Portugal or Spain if we are "lumping" the Latin cultures together).
Too bad PJ doesn't play Spain or Portugal anymore.
All good Matt..I just think the South American crowds are overrated IMO....
I also think the Italian crowds are better and are the best overall ....IMO they are more knowledgeable fans then SA.....the U2 shows from Milan in 2005 and 2009 were fantastic all around..
The only thing that irritates about South America and concerts, and it isn't even that direct, is the fact that on Facebook they will also post on the artist's wall: "come back to Argentina," or whatever country they are from. Always on a post you will get at least one person saying that. Sometimes the artist has just been there!
In the end, on a personal level (as opposed to just viewing youtube videos and listening to bootlegs), I need to see some shows outside of Southern Ontario/Western NY. The only two I have NOT seen in these two places are Pearl Jam (Auckland - good show, bad seats) and Oasis (Roseland Ballroom NYC - one of the best shows I've ever attended.)
...and don't forget those five great shows in 2006! Again, however, I am just gong by the bootlegs and watching Immagine in Cornice - and, of course, accounts from Ronnie.
HAHAHA!! Seriously but..... Im lucky to live where I live because MSG crowds are usually AWESOME!. 5/21/10 PJ and 10.27.01 U2 are two of the best crowds Ive ever been in!! I would just like to see at least one show in SA in my life..
While we wait for the 2nd leg bootlegs to arrive, I think we should compare some performances from different regions of the world. We could pick a song and compare (recent) performances of it from different regions of the globe (i.e., SA 2011 vs Euro 2012 vs NA 2013).
