  5. Great read there. I actually learned a couple of things - I didn't know NLOTH was the worst selling since October. And I had no idea that Croke Park was the site of the original Bloody Sunday. Interesting stuff

    Thats a different Sunday that the song is related too I think, not too sure. I'm horrible at history but the Croke Park incident happened in 1921. The other Bloody Sunday was 1972, which makes more sense since SBS was written around that time... I could be wrong though.

    I think over the years the song has taken on a less specific meaning and is seen as a statement against war and civil rights atrocities in general. And of course U2 adapt live versions to relate more strongly to the crowd. I remember talking to several people in the queue who thought that 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' and 'Bad' were special in Dublin, but even more so at Croke Park.
