1. Hi,

this is my remastered and remixed version of U2´s second show in La Plata, Argentina (Edge Stereo IEM Feed - lossy source).
The recording itself is quite nice but I didn´t like Bono´s voice panned that much to the left
channel and the horrible "count ins" on the right one.

So I seperated the stereo channels and and exported Edge´s left channel to mono. In the end I matrixed two left
channels - did some EQ on channel one and EQ/Reverb/StereoFX/etc. on the other channel (which is lower in the mix).

    Hope you like it!

Interesting, it sure is nice to get rid of the "count ins"

how can you make a remix from a lossy source, sorta pointless ?
  4. thanks a lot!!

Thanks for the hard work, I'm curious to hear what it sounds like!

What´s wrong with remixing a lossy source??? Up to now there´s no lossless source available by the way. It took me many many hours to rearrange the whole recording - feel free to download it and give it a listen. Maybe you´ll like it, even if it´s lossy...

    Cheers

It's ok. I sometimes do remasters of lossy sources when no lossless source is out. But don't convert it to mp3 again if you have remastered the audios. Otherwise will this kill the sound for sure.

i'm not criticising your efforts at all
i wish i had a clue of where to start to make a remaster of something

but i just think the sound quality of a lossy file won't change much with a remaster, especially if it's a lossy file with a lower kbps (i have found this from trying a little and researching it myself)

more like just questioning whether it would be worth the time and effort to try and remaster a lossy source, that's all (i'm not an audiophile by any means, but i can tell the difference between lossless and lossy most times, and i do love a good mp3 as much as a lossless file nearly, but i'm just not sure how much better your remaster could make it)

a remaster of a lossless one>lossy would be very appreciated though

and just wondering btw, how does a lossy sourced IEM come about?
surely if someone has the gear to get an IEM in the first place, their recording gear must be decent enough quality to record in lossless?

    cheers mate
  8. The lossless IEM just isnt shared (yet?)
  9. Lossless is not out there (yet)!

    @dylbagz
Ok, now I get your point and you´re right. But I didn´t just EQ the show . Did you liksten to the original IEM recording with Bono´s voice panned to Edge´s left channel and the click track and count ins on the right channel? It wasn´t very enjoyable to listen to it with headphones (at least for me). That´s why I rearranged the whole thing for my personal use at first place but I think the outcome is worth it to share.

Let´s hope for the lossless one though!
  10. It sounds great Although I must admit I like the original as well
