Oh wait - they had Buckethead....
I really like Fortus too, I don't see why people love Izzy so much on stage, Izzy was good in studio writing his stuff, on stage he was just a member of the band, nothing more
  2. Izzy was arguably the coolest member of the original line up. His presence on stage might be akin to Adam Clayton's. He sort of offset the larger-than-life personas of Axl and Slash (who were very different, as well).
  3. official press release for coachella

Upholding a three-decade tradition of breaking ground, creating trends, and forever changing the face of rock ‘n’ roll, Guns N’ Roses announce the most significant and anxiously awaited musical event of this century. Founder Axl Rose and former members Slash and Duff McKagan will regroup to headline the Coachella Music & Arts Festival (April 15-17 & April 22-24)—as announced last night!
For months, critics and audiences alike have generated immense excitement and speculation over the possible regrouping of the iconic line-up. The April performances will mark the first time since 1993 the Gunners will share the stage for what is certain to be an explosive event. For more information please visit www.gunsnroses.com.
Following the group’s 1985 formation, Guns N’ Roses injected unbridled, unrivaled, and unstoppable attitude into the burgeoning Los Angeles rock scene. The spirit went on to captivate the entire world with the release of their 1987 debut ‘Appetite for Destruction’ –the best-selling U.S. debut ever, moving 30 million copies globally. In 1991, the seven-time platinum ‘Use Your Illusion I’ and ‘Use Your Illusion II’ occupied the top two spots of the Billboard Top 200 upon release. Over the course of the past decade, Guns N’ Roses have performed sold out shows and headlined festivals worldwide following the critically acclaimed release of 2008’s RIAA platinum-certified ‘Chinese Democracy.’ Six studio albums later, Guns N’ Roses are one of the most important and influential acts in music history and continue to set the benchmark for live performances connecting with millions of fans across the globe.

    very good
and he was not just a presence, his fingers did their job far and away way well
the "recent" ones are who more who less very good musicians
    but they are not Gunners

They're not Gunners in the original sense however still excellent and very capable musicians in their own rights. Except Frank Ferrer - you have to wonder what the hell he's doing sometimes. And that DJ Ashba - could never quite get the This I Love solo right - and forget the version of Sweet Child at the Golden Gods Awards....absolutely dreadful.

Izzy indeed was the coolest member of the band apart from Steven Adler. His contributions (Izzy) are something else; and every single song he wrote for that band or had a large hand in from scratch are their best songs.

I loved the sloppy nature of the newer band sometimes. It felt like a real show where everything wasn't perfect. As a U2 fan, I kind of feel like the live shows are a bit too plastic and robotic at times with the backing tapes, overuse of Edge effects, but U2 is still my favorite band! I liked the This I Love solo at the two shows I saw. Ashba nailed it. And Axl's vocals were on point most of the time.
  7. I love the reunion, but I wanted to see the new GnR at least one more time..

    Loved that band!

  8. uhm Slash' guitar in Axl rehearsal room
  9. Where is the right photo from? Who posted it?
  10. it's from 2014, Duff rehearsing to take Tommy Stinson spot for some gigs
same room of the latest pic Slash posted

    14 years anyone? saying one
some of his solo works are pretty damned good too
  12. 14 years is solid...of course, the highlight for me is when Axl comes in during the chorus.

Dust N Bones is also pretty good. I recall Shuffle It All (solo work) being a nice one, as well.
