Ok i know its still early in the 2011 gigs, but assuming the rest of the U.S gigs are a follow on to what we've heard in SA and Mexico (and lets face it they probably will),when you reflect on this massive tour which year did it for you the most? 2009,2010 or 2011?
In some ways to me it feels like 3 different tours almost, but looking at what we've had i just love the 2009 gigs,Kingdom/Soon,Breathe,No Line,UV,Unknown Caller just awesome.I liked the Stingray guitar and some of the newer tracks from last year too but 09 just had it for me.The latest leg is ok,just doesn't feel right with so many NLOTH tracks missing,i like EBTTRT but i feel things work better when they go for it and open gigs with the latest material.Still things can very well change in the next 2 months.
I attended a 2009-show so that weighs heavily on my decision. I must admit that 2010 is somewhat "lost" to me...no radio broadcasts - but some great fan-made stuff. The new stuff needs to get on the radio. I think 2011 is "tops" for me right now due to the return of EBTTRT and Zooropa (I'm a huge fan of AB and Zooropa) and the anticipation of Glastonbury (hoping for a real cool setlist) and the Toronto show - which I'll be in attendance.
For me I'd say 2010 right now although 11 definitely earns a big Incomplete. There was about a month stretch from the middle of August last year until the middle of September which in my opinion could seriously rival just about any point in the bands career
Even though I attended 2 shows in 2009 (NJ 1 & 2),I think Europe 2010 is tops. The band played with a bit more passion and energy.Of course, adding the new songs with the old classics gave the show alot of juice.
Its early for 2011.I thought by now,a new cd would have been released.Doesnt look good.Anyhow,Im really looking forward to my shows this summer.Going to Montreal for the 2 shows there. It should be alot of fun.

I'd say these were all great legs!
Amsterdam I, 2009: vocally, one of the best U2 performances ever, and a memorable concert too. The new material, TUF and UV are immense.
'09, back when the tour was new and exciting and, on a personal level, special for me because it's the first i've followed as a fan. the hype surrounding the opening night at camp nou was immense!
that said, 2011 has given the tour something of a resurgence of energy i reckon, all the additions and changes have made it a totally different show to the way it was 2 years ago.
09 & 10 ......09 because i love unknown caller, Breathe and NLOTH i heard Ultra violet in years my first live experience of The Unforgetabble fire
'10 because of stingray, mercy, northstar and the returning of HMTMKMKM......
and i never will forget the Best sound ever in the stade de France Paris ...
' 11 Is great but not as great as the other two years i love the comeback of Even better than ....and Zooropa but for me the rest is al the same every show
i"s more like a greatest hits tour now
09 is the weakest setlist wise. 10 is good for some of the standards (MW, Until, Elevation, BD, WOWY compared to 09) 011 is probably the best performance wise (Mexico and the US shows ) and setlist wise. Tough call but 2011 could become the best in the coming shows
