I wasn't expecting them to be as good as they were. We missed the first support act (no big deal) and the venue was already packed so we had a spot at the back unfortunately. I did suggest that maybe we head up to the balcony as there were some decent spaces towards the front but we stay put. After the second support went off, some gaps appeared in front of us so we filtered through and got a good view in the middle of the floor (helped by lots of little people). Anyway, Kodaline went off after the main set and appeared on the balcony for the start of their encore, right where we could've stood, to perform an acoustic (no mic) Sam Cooke cover. Ah well, you can't win them all. If I had done some homework, perhaps I would've known that they'd do that as it seems to be something they try to do at each gig.
  3. Depeche Mode tomorrow night @ the O2. If it's half as good as the Hydro last week, I'm in for a treat

    +1!
  5. Had three gigs in the last three nights: Arcade Fire, Queens of the Stone Age and Travis. All very good. I've got Arctic Monkeys on Thursday and Pixies on Friday.

Peter, was that your first time at the Hydro?

It was Kieran. Was very impressed - the sound was superb but then again, anything beats the SECC!!
  7. Last night Nick Cave in Amsterdam. Great concert, a real entertainer. Mixed well with the superb acoustics of the Heineken Music Hall
  8. Primal Scream in 3 hours!!!

Wow, that's a bummer, what a missed chance! Anyway, glad you had a decent spot at the middle of the room for most of the show. I suppose the venue isn't too big if they performed something compeltely unplugged. Bravo for them, well done

To all of you enjoying gigs lately... Have fun Gotta love this times when there's shows to attend every week

  10. It was really great. Bobby looks old (after all that drugs etc.), but still very charismatic. And the band in very good shape.

  11. My impressions of the Hydro are high. Great venue. I agree about the sound, and definitely a lot better than the SECC!
