Had NLOTH been released say 10 years ago do you think it would've been more of a success?
In an age of declining cd sales and where perhaps rock bands aren't the "in thing" at present, would No Line have been a bigger success a decade ago,or would it been deemed a 'disappointment' like so many seem to have dubbed it now.
The tour is without doubt a success, and i think it will be fondly remembered in years to come, but the band obviously not so happy to have dropped so many of the albums songs as the tour has progressed, personally i think Boots and Magnificent wouldve have been number 1 hits a decade ago.
What do you guys think?
I would have sold much more, no doubt on that. But artistically it wouldn't have been any beter or worse NLOTH's artistic quality has nothing to do (or well, not a lot) with the sales it achieved worldwide. Had it been released in 1995 or 2000... Well, it would have sold more, but I think it would have been labeled with the same "semi-failure" tag. It's just too inconsistent.
