1. With the end of the tour on the Horizon, and presumably U2 taking a well earned break, will the band break up?go in a new direction,or play it safe to appeal to the rabble, and what about touring will they want to top the biggest tour in history 360 and play a bigger tour or play indoors and scale things down. With the downturn in record sales especially for older artist and with the flop that was NOLOTH" by U2 standards" would they want to release another record in a world dominated by cheesy pop and X-factor junk. U2 are definitely at a crossroads but one they have faced before with very successful results. The Spider man musical has done them no favours as the music they wrote for it was mauled by the critics, but remember people wrote them off after R&H and POP,but they bounced back with amazing records after those fiasco's,,so where do they go from here? The next adventure in U2s career should be very interesting indeed.
  2. Either more of the same on a smaller scale or they'l become more creative (Zooropa/Passengers) and tour small.
  3. I think they should pursue the Danger Mouse project. They will never be as big as they once were, due to their age (sadly), and the fact that the vast majority of my generation have no taste. I'd just go crazy, stuff the sales and go as deep into experimentation as they can.

U2 released Zooropa, Passengers and Pop, which were a commercial failure after The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby. In 2000 they came up with All That You Can't Leave Behind.

I don't think sales should influence music.

I don't mean to say that, ATYCLB was a bad album, I just don't think that it was as creative as the direction Pop was taking them in. The reason they stepped back was because of the sales flop. Sales were influencing the way they made their music, sales made them pursue a safer sound closer to the Joshua Tree sound. I just think they have so much more to offer, but they won't achieve what they could truly do if they don't experiment again. NLOTH was the start of a new experiment but it could have been taken further. That's what I feel they need to do, take their experimentation forward again as they did in the 90s, without fearing whether or not it will be a big sale .
  6. they will release one more album which will take at least one more year to finish, and after that no more. They'll retire, grow fat and old and enjoy their lives off stage
  7. Release an album in a year or two and then play an arena tour.
  8. I hope they have at least 2 more albums in them to be totally honest, or failing that one more great album and a few tours every few years. Live is where they live, I think they can agree on that, so I don't see how they can't continue live performances if they want to still do it. Age isn't really an issue for most U2 fans - I bet most of us would still go see them in their 60's. The only thing I worry about is whether Larry can keep drumming and how much longer Bono can keep shouting to the heavens on stage.
  9. It will be a safer album i think, the record company will demand it,they are always gonna be a success because of how much of a fanbase they have, look at NLOTH considered a flop but the tour that went with it has been fantastic.
I'd be happy for them to carry on touring like the Rolling Stones are, playing live nobody can touch them.

I think Larry recently said he was seeing himself playing in 10 years from now... though not 70. There might still be 2 or 3 albums, and at least 2 tours...? But let's see.

I'd be happy with smaller tours and very high quality music...
  11. In Oakland,Edge talked about some tour with Metallica,Green Day and U2.

Am I rgiht ? It was on the bootleg, but I don't thnik that they should do it.

Metallica have arguments with bands they play live together, remember Guns N Roses ?
