1. Or One.

After all, this is the worst indivindual spree killer in history. Death toll on Utöya has rised to 86 and five is still missing. Over 30 has severe injuries after both events.

  2. It was. It started, well, apparently during The Fly and kept up alllllll the way through. Not a little drizzle, either: full on RAIN. I've never been that wet -- the money in my back pocket inside a leather coin purse was soaked through!

  3. ...yes, the rain was quite the deluge...forgot to power down my cell in my pocket and it was toast until Sunday....In regards to the sound comment, possibly the ferocity of the downpours mixed with the wind did something to "drown out" the sound travelling??...I was all the way back up in 219...sounded fine from there..

...great show..great crowd...storm or no storm...thankfully the lightning stayed to the surrounding areas and not right over us..that would have sucked if the show had to stop and everyone would have had to leave and cram into the concourse...

...agree, thought it was odd that Bono made no mention of the Norway tragedy.......

  4. It's a sad world we live in when Amy Winehouse trumps innocent terrorism victims. Bono should (and does) know better. I'm sure he'll atone for his "miss" during the next two shows.
  5. That was some crazy rain. Glad I had a poncho, or I would have been soaked.
  6. i'm wondering if the heavy rain had any impact on the tapers. i love to collect the shows i attend, and share with friends who are there. would be a bummer to miss this one.

and yes, i too was surprised to hear no mention of norway. i think there were even some screen graphics of bodies laying all over the place in pools of blood during one of the songs. odd timing.
  7. I've been kinda worried about the fact that no boot has shown up yet. Do I just need to relax?

  8. You're spoiled, just wait for a few months, and then start to worry
  9. Heheh. I was all "but EAST RUTHERFORD's already got one!" And, well, that's still my logic. Hopefully after this last show everyone will go home and get to editing.
  10. you and me both, double_psyche. i figured i'd start to worry when pittsburgh showed up :-)
  11. Wow, it really had to be an awful weather if we go by the taper's description...
I have been taping shows for close to 10 years and this show had by far the worst weather conditions I have ever encountered while using microphones. This recording (while not up to the standards of most on this tour) is very enjoyable given the almost impossible taping conditions. I don't want to hear any complaints about sound quality because it is what it is...

Mics were lowered when the rain starting pouring heavily towards the end of Mysterious Ways affecting the sound for the remainder of the show.
*right channel replaced with left due to water distorting right mic capsule on these tracks.
