  1. For all the 360 withdrawal we're all feeling (some more than others) we need to setup a fan reunion for sometime next year to help fill the gap between this tour and the next one!
    What I would like is if we can get setup a reunion and an agreement as to where, when and how many are going.
    I also think we need a U2 tribute band to play the songs we've all been desperately waiting for U2 to crank out. We hire em, they play em, simple as :-)
    I've already contacted my local U2 tribute band U2 by UV who I saw St Paddy's Day and they were brilliant. If we get say 100 to 150 of us, we can get them for probably about 30 US Dollars a head
    I will create a poll lsiting the places and dates.
    Right now, Im thinking the places to start off the list would be
    1. Las Vegas
    2. Miami/Ft Lauderdale
    3. The Florida Keys (can you think of anywhere netter?)
    4. Dublin
    5. 3 or 4 day cruise to the bahamas (200-350 bucks each for cruise, less if more share each cabin)

    For time, probably around April or May 2012 would be good.

    Please everyone, invite whoever you want to this group and all suggestions are welcome. We don't need anymore little clique controversies as I've seen on various U2 forums and facebook groups in the last few weeks!!All are welcome. EVERYONE!!!
    But we will need to get the ball rolling on this within 2 to 3 weeks to get everything sorted. That does not mean all payments up front as I know we're all hurting pretty bad right now
    For now, we just need to agree on when and where and what tribute band, the rest can come later. Please help me out and make this a special event for all of us :-)

    Please join the group for those of you on Facebook and pass the link on to anyone who may be interested. I know some small other gatherings are in the planning stages but lets make this a monumental reunion with 100-200 hardcore U2 nuts somewhere. :applaud:
  2. Ummmm...i think NYC would be the perfect spot, can't get much more Irish and there is a hotbed of 4 or 5 U2 tribute bands to pick from.
  4. By the way, I absolutely ADORE the simple thought of a multitudinary/worldwide reunion of U2 fans, specially if it happened in Dublin. I would love to go there, and I would do a lot of sacrifices in order to be able. Please keep up with this topic (I modified the title, btw) and if you need any help drop me a line. I'll be glad to be of any help

    I'm hoping of hosting a dedicated non facebook page at some point for everyone with all the details once we have things agreed on.

    You can vote on the facebook page for where you want it to be. Remember that most of us will be making the trek to Dublin for the next tour anyway so why not do the reunion somewhere else but you;re all welcome to vote and also make suggestions.

  6. I've sent the joining petition, my name is Sergio. Joining a bunch of U2 fans anywhere in the world would be a pleasure, but if that place can be THE place, then it's beeter for all, isn't it? Who cares if someone's been to Dublin twice or not has been at all? There's always a good reason to come back, and a U2 Fans reunion is just as good as any other
  7. brilliant idea!!! I'm not on facebook, but I'm all in for this idea. Let's go meet in Dublin, there can't be a better place for this than in their hometown.

  8. Good idea, but I think it might be better to have one in the USA and one in Europe.
    People can travel relatively cheap within their own continent, but I doubt many are willing or able (expensive flying tickets) to travel from one continent to the other.
  9. right now its looking like vegas and in July to accomodate the teachers as theres a whiole lto of teachers who are hadrcore U2 fans!!! joi up guys!!!
  10. I love this idea, but since I'm not rich and I want to see U2 playing in Dublin, I'd say to everybody here: "let's meet next time U2 play in Dublin"

    I know it'll be tough for Europeans but hey. This might be a good excuse to go somehwre you've never been before say like Vegas. Bring the family and do an 'Oooh look love, there's a U2 tribute playing tongiht ? What a stroke of luck eh ? "
  12. I think this is a terrific idea but I'd be interested to know what the organisers envisage happening for this reunion. Will it be like a fan convention, a party, a loosely organised drunken orgy? Have the organisers run events before?
