1. OK, well I can start it again but have the Key in C major? How's that?
  2. That's what the key is set to at the moment, but the piano I did was in G.
  3. It's hard to come up with something, harder than I thought.
  4. Maybe i could just rerecord and set everything right?
  5. You can, but we need a better idea than what we've got. Just trying to create something even similar to Slug, sort of, is just way too hard. A basic rock song perhaps or something a bit more straightforward.

Not that not creating an Original Soundtracks-like tune is impossible but it's more difficult than I thought.
  6. I think we could build on our current idea, just take it in a little different direction.

Yesterday I had an idea that you could record some harmonica through the guitar amps in Garageband. Could be cool I think. What key is your harmonica in?
  7. I think it's a C key. I mean I've got ideas, whether they're easy to do or near-impossible is another question. One of these:

  8. Best not to record anything yet 'til we've got an idea.
  9. It says C on it so it's probably in C, of course changing the key in Garageband and it retuning the thing could be used to our advantage here...
  10. Absolutely it could. I've thought of something more closer to United Colours from Passengers would be far cooler and you can still do your deep voice. Uses not a lot of drums, mainly more effects and it would work a lot better (and is way easier).

Use a clave effect over a sort of ambient background, have some harmonica, some real weird guitar effects and then bass behind it (muted bass). Would take not too long actually.
  11. Ok, let's try that. What key do we want it in? C is kind of hard to sing deeply in.
  12. Which ever is easiest key - I'm not so good with them. The whole thing could come out sounding like crap (potentially) but it would work.

I'll start on something very soon. Just a basic track for now, and then we can see where the guitar and harmonica can come in.
