  3. Just started listening to a show I've wanted to listen to for a while, the first Cow Palace show in 1987, said to be one of the best ever.

  6. It did have that vibe to it. Really sounded good - actually at times, you sound like Tom Waits.

  8. He sounds a bit like Johnny Cash at times. This is a nice tune called Martha from 1973 (who in turn sounds like Bob Dylan!)

  10. I wish Sinatra was still around, but I guess he had to take his place up there with the other legends of the day. Speaking of past legends, Robert Palmer is one I've been getting into lately. Pretty much every style - pop, rock, jazz, funk, world, Urdu (!) and other styles he did so well.

    Robert Palmer was an English singer, songwriter, guitarist etc - died in 2003. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Palmer_%28singer%29



    Ah yes and Roy Orbison too is another one - think I told you the other day about him. His music (and his writing) is just unbelievably beautiful. I remember at that tribute show, he said (Damien Leith) about Roy - was that 'If Roy walked in here today, I would simply say thank you'. Quite moving that.
