Alright, I’m not much for the sappy stuff, but I’m gonna be a little conceited and tell myself I deserve a thread for this, as I’ve seen many other people do it and I try not to open too many around here.
This is my 5000th post! 5000 messages traded back and forth with the greatest friends of an online community I could ask for…sometimes, in the early stages of me at U2start, “online community” was something I didn’t really want to admit to myself/others I was a big part of…I didn’t want to be one of those guys who sat around his computer all day posting on forums. But it turned into something a lot greater than that- meeting people I now talk to regularly (both on and off the site), getting pretty exclusive updates about U2, being able to harp over rumors for hours on end, following shows live for 2 years, laughing with everyone…it’s just an amazing time over here and I’m happy to have finally hit a pretty nice landmark post.
Thanks to Sergio, Joe, Kieran, Drew, Olof, Chris, Kirsten, Bart, Aidan, Nicole, Ger, yeah, Aaron, Nick, Cal, Juraj, Casper, Jeff- the people that have truly rounded out this wonderful site for me - and really anyone else who I’ve ever conversed with on the site that I may have forgotten. But most importantly, thanks to Remy for setting this all up. Remy, we’ve never really directly shared words, but you absolutely must know how much this site and community of people means to me, and I thank you endlessly for providing it.
Having just come home from Lollapalooza, I’ve been off the site for several days, and I now see that Olof is slowly but surely about to reach his 20,000th post, so keep an eye out for him. His thread will be here soon.
Very well done Matt! It's great knowing such an interesting character on this website, and it's what makes you one of my greatest friends here. Congratulations dude!
Congrats, sir. While I may be slightly pained at your choice of higher education, it's rather easy to overlook that in the name of being fans of the best band in the world.
...that said, we're totally going to kick your ass in the Bucket Game this year down here in Bloomington.
