I cannot wait to listen to vinyl - I've only heard great things about it.

I hope it's a good one! There can be quite a difference.

You may need a RIAA amplifier as well.

  2. What's a RIAA amplifier?
  3. It amplifies the phono signal from the vinyl player. If you don't have a phono jack on your stereo, you'll need one, the normal phono signal is too weak for today's normal jacks.
  4. Hello Alexandra!

I think we'll go crazy if we don't go crazy tonight.

It may also be called stuff like phono amplifier, phono pre-amp.

It's quite lovely, thank you! Some buzzing frets though, maybe I'll ask the music store to set it up. I tried to do it myself, but wasn't entirely successful, but at least it did get better.

They don't. I think some newer players have them built in too. If your stereo has a phono input, you won't need one.
