You have to read it. It is the most amazing book that I've ever read. Written by Bill Carter, whom I'm sure you know (Sarajevo-satellites guy). It is an amazing portrait of that so unique city. It isn't really about the war, but more about the people living their lives to 110% during the longest siege in modern history.
Aha, the Bill's book, ok ok I have heard of it. I would have never guessed the title Ok, I will try to find it, whether in physical or inline format. Thanks for the -enthusiastic- advice
Aha, ok. Would be fun to take I guess. I once just for fun did the university test (to get in) for English. Only did part one, in which I had 100% correct answers
I still have to improve my understanding skills of spoken English, I have excellent levels of spoken, written and read English but my ability to understand it when spoken is not as good - so I'm waiting until I improve that to take any serious test or title appliance. I want to have the highest possible mark and I don't want to spoil the party by not understanding fully what I'm told It's not that I'm a complete knob when it comes to understand spoken English, not at all. I can have a fluid conversation without problem. It's just that my written skills are excellent and my hearing skills are just "good", and I don't want a "good" mark. I want an EXCELLENT one
I know (although you only know my written&read English ). But some weeks ago I had some serious trouble to understand an Australian guy (he was speaking fast as hell, that has to be said) and I realized that it's my main weakness. I want to improve that before applying to anything... although I don't know how can I
Sergio, go down to the countryside in Ireland, Cork or Limerick or something like that. If you can understand them you're as good as any I have trouble figuring out what they say even.
