  6. lernen = practicing the theory, the words, as in study.
    studieren = study at university. this means the whole of your studying at university or college. in German you're a pupil while at school, but a student ("Student") when at university. so take "lernen" instead of "studieren"

  8. I always got confused with the grammar in German when at school. I suppose it was something to get used to.

    English is known to have completely senseless and stupid grammar and rules for pronunciation.
