    Pingpong balls are made of celluloid, which is a tough flammable thermoplastic made essentially of nitrocellulose nitrate and camphor. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celluloid ... It's highly flammable

    I can teach you how to build one (in a smaller scale of course). Not suitable for indoors though.

    Fill a balloon with hydrogen gas, ignite it.

    I didn't prepare it. We have plenty of these at uni (in fact, this photo is from my university):

  9. Nope. I just soaked the polyestyrene with acetone and then ignited the sticky mixture.
