1. Hello hello!

I think when they release "R&H" as a 2 LP Set they should put the new studio songs on side A+B (CD1) and the live tracks on side C+D (CD2). But maybe not the same live songs as on the original release and even more. But i want to retracking the studio songs from R&H for sides A+B (CD1) and only including the 9 original songs.

    My thoughts:

    1. Hawkmoon
    2. Van Diemens
    3. Angel
    4. Love Rescue
    5. Love Town
    6. Heartland
    7. God II
    8. Desire
    9. All I Want

    or:

    1. Hawkmoon
    2. God II
    3. Desire
    4. Heartland
    5. Van Diemens
    6. Angel
    7. Love Town
    8. Love Rescue
    9. All I Want

    ...anyone has more ideas?
    Thanks
    Frank
  2. 1. Hawkmoon
    2. Desire
    3. God II
    4. Van Diemen's
    5. Angel
    6. Love Rescue
    7. Love Town
    8. Heartland
    9. All I Want
  3. I think that this is a good idea, put all the studio tracks together. I hate the back and forth between live and non-live songs on the album.

In any case, starting with Hawkmoon makes sense and then they should do an "Achtung Baby" and sort of alternate (or a 2:1 ratio in AB's case) between fast and slow. Keep the Sun Studios tracks together and definitely end with AIWIY.

    Maybe something like:

    Hawkmoon 269
    Van Diemens's Land
    Desire
    Heartland
    Angel of Harlem
    When Love Comes To Town
    Love Rescue Me
    God 2
    All I Want Is You

Not too much of a mix up in terms of the R&H ordering but definitely cleaner.
  4. Additional note:

The album could be "beefed up" by adding some b-sides (no remixes, however).
  5. 1. Hawkmoon 269
    2. When Love Comes To Town
    3. God Part II
    4. Desire

    8. All I Want Is You

    9. Fortunate Son
    10. Dancing Barefoot
    11. Unchained Melody
    12. Everlasting Love
    13. Hallelujah Here She Comes
    14. A Room At The Heartbreak Hotel
    15. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
  6. 1 Van Diemen's Land
    2 Desire
3 When Love Comes To Town
    4 Dancing Barefoot
    5 Angel Of Harlem
    6 Hallelujah Here She Comes
    7 Everlasting Love
    8 Unchained Melody
    9 God Part II
    10 Hawkmoon 269
    11 Heartland
    12 Love Rescue Me
13 All I Want Is You
  7. 1 Hawkmoon

9 When Love Comes to Town
    10 Love Rescue Me
    11 Heartland
    12 God Part II
13 All I Want Is You

I think She's a Mystery to Me is from this era. Either way, I love that song, and I wish they had included it.
  8. Assuming the one day they'll reissue R&H, I would pretty surprised (and disappointed) if "She's a Mystery To Me" wasn't included in the set.
  9. i still can't imagine them remastering R&H or POP with a huge amount of effort (2 disc set, etc etc.) although im really down for it
  10. I think if they do in fact reissue these R&H and POP, it'll be at the same time.

    Misery loves company.

I wouldn't mind them remastering R&H, as long as the track groupings are cleaner, as most of the people here have suggested. They wouldn't even need to change up any of the tracks and could keep a live/album remastered version.
  12. It's unlikely that R&H will get the reissue treatment any time soon. The album is inextricably linked to the movie which is so of its time that it has dated more than any U2 release; the sound, the performances (including dodgy covers) the issues of the day like apartheid, enniskillen, tv evangelism, San Salvador, etc. Even the look, I doubt the guys want to revisit the Lola Cashman years again! There is some interesting outtake footage available online, but Paramount Pictures would have to get their cut of the pie if that was to be released in a reissue package.
