    Performance ★★★★★
The "performance" rating groups a lot of other things. Band's playing, setlist order, setlist surprises or not, Bono's vocals... Although band's playing wasn't nailed this night (they still had to polish some of the new songs), the rest of it seems to be just perfect. I have always said that tour-opening nights went downhill after Dundee, and I still say that. This doesn't seem like a tour opening concert, maybe because they didn't have the pressure they have now when they start a new world tour... Anyway, this is a concert to remember. Out Of Control seems to be embedded of some sort of special energy , Bono's vocals are louder than usual, Edge's guitar is sharper than usual... Sunday Bloody Sunday is very different, very different, very different to what we're used nowadays. This is raw, unpolished, loud, fast, full of energy... Better or worse, I won't judge, but it's different. It's nice to listen to a vesion like this every now and then. Oh, and Larry's final drum roll was awesome!! The rest of the show until the encore is just very good, Bono's on fire (did you see that I Fall Down lyric changes? wow!), Edge makes some abundant mistakes (fucks up SBS, 11O'CTT and NYD solos, for example), Larry seems to be keen on crushing his drum kit to pieces... Gotta love how Larry starts Seconds in an awfully quick tempo and he slows it down, probably when he saw Edge and Bono sight-killing him hahaa...

And then came the encore You all know why I chose this show Only time that "my" song has been performed in front of an audience, and that only adds to the legend in my opinion. But wait, there's some Party Girl and some Surrender first! Party Girl is... well... Lacklustre at best! But pretty funny! Hearing Bono coming in with the "When I was three" part, and Edge backing that same verses a few seconds later was messy and funny! Regarding Bono's famous comment of "And that, ladies and gentlemen was the first time that song has ever been performed... And probably the last time as well!". I wish things would have gone the other way around for Party Girl and Like A Song... Surrender's beggining is messy as hell, it took them a while to pick up the good key...
And then, the reason of my nickname, the obvious reason why I chose this show for the BRT and the reason why my parents' War vinyl is the most worn-out album of the house. Like A Song. There's not much I can say about this song that I already didn't say on the Like A Song topic I opened a few months ago...

    Audience ★★★★
They're very good at (most) parts, they're only so-so sporadically (for example, I Will Follow uses to get a bigger response). Sincerely, I don't recall another crowd singing along to I Threw A Brick or Tomorrow. They sing nicely during other songs, and enthusiastically answer Bono when he speaks to them. As usual on the pre-Joshua Tree shows, the audience seems to be composed mostly of students, young people... and that adds to the energy and the general feeling of the show.

    Sound ★★★
I have listened a lot of times to this show, so I knew what to expect. It's an amateur, 29 years old recording... I knew it ain't no 2 IEMs + AUD 24bit matrix, so I just enjoyed what I could enjoy!! The sound is somewhat "thin", it lacks the warmth of newer recordings, and you can notice a bare hiss (more present on our mp3 version than on the lossless). There are some cuts where no music is lost, only audience sound; that helps the concert to be a little shorter than the actual duration and flow better, so I can't blame whoever added that cuts. The only really annoying thing is ''40'' cutting out early Why, why, why? Oh, anyway, we should be thankful for having such a special recording, even if the last song is abruptly cut!

    Overall ★★★★
    Is honesty what you want?
  9. I have gotten the honor to choose the show for this round. I have a show in mind, Popmart Johannesburg. The final show of Popmart. Before I make it definite, I'd just like to ask if everyone has already listened to this show a thousand times and wouldn't be interested?
  10. Around 25 But it would be nice anway.
  11. 10 times ( maybe more) Johannesburg !!

We are going to Africa !!
