1. What are some of your favorite random Bono quotes you've heard during shows? They can be from shows attended in person, bootlegs, or anything else!

Here's a favorite of mine from Zoo Tv in Adelaide between The Fly and EBTTRT. Bono accepts a question from a fan who got the show broadcast to her house. The fan asks Bono, "If you weren't the lead singer of U2, who would you be?" Bono replies, "I wanna be The Edge!!!"
  2. I love the random things Bono says, especially during the Zoo TV shows. Here's my all-time favorite..

"Rock N' Roll used to be dance music....but what would I know about that? But you always knew you could dance to U2....is that right? YEAH RIGHT!!"
(Mysterious Ways intro, Gent May 9, 1992)

For a long time before the 90s, Bono never really thought that people could dance to U2 songs, in the 90s he definitely changed his stance on that, haha.
  3. You'll find plenty of them here:

    Your favourite U2 quote

Regarding the actual subject of the topic, I love this one:

"Where's my public? My God, they've deserted me! This is a crisis. We'd better do something. Stir up some publicity or something. 'Bono in under-age sex orgy.' That should do it. I want my public back." - Bono, December 1987
  4. "He looked at me like I was some exotic plant."

Bono about meeting politicians at Jonathan Ross show 2004.
  5. Favorite show quote of all time: Happened while Bono and Edge were doing an acoustic version of Stuck on the Vertigo Tour, somewhere in S. America.

"Look at him. This man does not sweat. Who's working for who, here?"
    -Bono (to Edge)
  6. ^ somewhere in S. America --> Sao Paulo
  7. "Some flower children down there I see ya, every gig now. Must be all on the internet or something. I can't even operate the hoover man...don't laugh! Right?"

    Roundhay Park

  8. "Are you ready to blow the roof off this place?!!!!...Are you aware that there is no roof?!!" - during Vertigo, 2011-07-26 Pittsburgh
  9. Another one, this time from Zoo Tv in Washington, D.C.:

Bono, as Mirrorball Man, calls George Bush (yet again). When the White House lady replies that the president is unavailable, Bono says, totally sounding like an Elvis impersonator, "The president of the United States isn't available to ME?"

It's his voice while saying that that cracks me up!
