Sort of. We Americans almost always turn left and never pause to turn right (at least until the cars spin out of control). I actually kind of like F1, too. Schuey, Schuey, Schuey!
NASCAR is actually not that bad. It's IndyCar that is the more dangerous motorsport in America. For example, British racer Dan Wheldon tragically died in a 15 car pile-up in October; he died of massive head injuries. A sad loss to motorsport.
I really like watching NASCAR though, it's a lot of fun. I've been round the Daytona oval circuit in Florida, fantastic.
