Mononucleosis? It's called the "kissing disease" in Spanish, it is not nice indeed. Get better Andrew!
  2. Poor guy I was thinking bike mono lol but it made no sense
Sounds horrible, first time I heard about it.
    Get well Andrew

I m sorry about that ...good luck with that
  4. I'm on somebody,s iPad I never realised how cool these things are I'm so behind the times, bout to have an icy pole woohoo
  5. It took me a while to warm to the idea of an iPad, but once I bought one it replaced everything. I use it for internet, gaming, watching TV, shopping, and so on. I don't use my laptop anymore and only use my desktop for things the iPad can't do.
  6. The only thing I find hard is you need to have little fingers hehe and it doesn't help when you have nails. But I'm liking this so will buy one after I get my child an iPhone I think.
  7. I should know this, and I've always wondered, has it ever been established that Edge is playing guitar on Bass Trap? Sure doesn't sound like his playing.

More like U2 Thoughts topic, but anyway - I don't think there's an official word on this. Why do you think he's not playing? I think it sounds pretty Edge-ish...

  9. Just the guitar tone along with the playing. It's almost like finger picking, I can't see the Edge approaching a song like that. I have a feeling it's Lanois, but I could be wrong. All of the other b-sides on UF that have Edge sound nothing like that.

Again, maybe I'm crazy! Either way it's such a fantastic tune. I just had the Unforgettable Fire single playing on vinyl and the b-side is just fantastic. Homecoming live, Love Comes Tumbling and Bass Trap. Amazing trio of songs!
  10. Ah, I get you about the picking style - I had thought about it, but I simply didn't think it could not be Edge! Maybe you're right. I will make sure to ask him whenever I stumble across him when I live in Dublin

Absolutely. I bought that vinyl single for my father (TUF is his favorite U2 song) in a record store in a famous Dublin street, and when I got home and played it I realize how great it was. It's almost an EP, with 2 of their best 80s songs (ASOH and TUF) and two fantastic b-sides.

By the way, my favorite ASOH version is the one from the Australian single, I don't know if you've heard it. DIfferent (better, IMO) vocals, different ending... It's just the perfect version.
  11. "Recorded for 'The Unforgettable Fire' album at Slane Castle. One of the experimental tracks that didn't make the cut, it came via the Eno bag of tricks. In his case, we used a device that allowed you to trap a short musical passage and loop it ad infinitum. This exact idea went on to become the catalyst of an entire music culture called hip hop. Here we simply looped a few bars of Adam's bass, then I played guitar and Daniel Lanois played pedal steel on top." - The Edge, The Unforgettable Fire 2009
