Honestly, if you make a nuclear facility in the right location in a quality first world country (not a state of the old USSR) I don't see anything going wrong. Especially after what we've learned from Chernobyl, Fukushima and Three Mile Island.
If you put one out in the middle of Australia, where there is nothing, and no natural disasters, it would be hard for something to go wrong. Plenty of countries have nuclear power and have used it for years with no consequences.

Yeah, I know that politics is forbidden on this topic, but this is so fucked up on so many levels that I just had to post it. It scares me that people like this live on the face of earth. And then it happened, in Japan, in one of the most advanced countries in the world. And it's way way WAY worse than Chernobyl. We don't learn and we tend to repeat mistakes.

Different mistakes. Chernobyl (and 3mile island for that matter), where operating mistakes. Fukushima, was mostly a construction mistake. Design was underrated for the earthquake threat in the area, and the seawall was to low.
