Foals are fantastic on record, yes. I've heard opinions that at festivals they are a bit disappointing. They aren't that much of a festival band. The only song that appears to be 'festival-friendly' is My Number and maybe Inhaler. If you see them at a headlining show, it is a lot different – much more ecstatic and energetic. However, I had a couple of complaints about their show: they seem to milk things overly and go into extended jams that grow boring. You can read my review if you want. Had Cage the Elephant headlined, I would have came out of that show mind-blown.
Did you see Pixies last night (or was it the night before), Matt? Arcade Fire are brilliant live, I'm seeing them again in June twice - cannot wait.
I'm probably going to skip Springsteen's latest leg here in the USA to keep some money aside for U2. Hurts, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
Pixies were in Chicago last night but I ended up not attending - tickets were just too steep. Thought they'd drop to an affordable amount, but I wasn't going to pay ~ $50 when I'd just seen them a few months ago, playing pretty much every song I know by them.
I was really into Foals before seeing them for the first time last September, I loved most of their album songs and they played a standard set (the set they play everywhere, setlist.fm says), BUT they disappointed me so badly live. It seemed to be an opinion shared by a lot of the audience gathered there, but a good part of them were really into it, so... to each their own I guess.
I'm gonna watch From The Sky Down now that AB has finished.
