1. Olof- things are great here Stateside, just hanging around, listening to music, speculating Lollapalooza headliners on another forum, and contemplating buying some concert tickets.

Songs that need finished off of Pop
If God Will Send His Angels (verses)
    Staring at the Sun
    Gone (fixed on TBO)
    Miami
    Velvet Dress
    Wake Up Dead Man

    Songs that should remain untouched
    Discotheque
    DYFL
    Mofo
    Last Night on Earth
    Playboy Mansion
    Please

    my two cents ^^

Everyone's problem with Playboy is the song itself, not necessarily it's arrangement. I personally love the song, as I'm sure some of you unfortunately remember. I think a Pop Muzik sample somewhere in Mofo would be sort of cool but that's just my PopMart fandom speaking.
  2. The single version of IGWSHA is pretty much perfect. Wake Up Dead Man soooooo needs to be finished.
  3. You could say Wake Up Dead Man needs some of the finish TAKEN OFF, perhaps. The album version is simply too much.

Yeah, take the distortion off the vocals. Maybe just an acoustic version.
  5. The version on Slane Castle is desperately beautiful
  6. In my opinion, they should have stuck Wake Up Dead Man on Zooropa to finish the album. I cannot stand The Wanderer. I will always end the album at Dirty Day.
  7. Wanderer should have been a b-side....great song (as are many U2 B-sides), but it's awkward on the end of that album.

Looping the album back through and having around 15 seconds of silence on the end of Dirty Day, followed by that swooning-swirling that opens Zooropa before that finally faded out too...would have been cool.
  8. I think The Wanderer should have had Bono vocals on Zooropa. And then they could have released the Johnny Cash version as a JC single or something.

    Or at least a duet
  10. Wow, didn't realize that many people disliked Wanderer. I love it. It just feels like the world is ending, and Johnny's voice is a big reason for that.

I'd love to hear that version they recorded with Bono's vocal track. I was hoping it would come out on the AB release, but I was wrong

No, Bono's voice was so perfect back then. They could've released an album of him humming and I'd have loved it.

Les: I like it too. But it doesn't quite fit on Zooropa.
