1. Mylo Xyloto didn't hit me from the frist few listens, but after 'rediscovering' it last month, there are some really good tracks on there. My favourite is probably Us Against The World which seems to have elements of the old Coldplay, a good point in my book.

    Paradise is overplayed.

VLV had some good tracks but on the whole it wasn't particulaly great.
  2. I might give it another listen. Probably my favourite song off Viva would have been the last one.
  3. They always have excellent album closers, and that might be MX's weakest point, although by no means I dislike Up With The Birds... It's just... Not brilliant enough. Us Against The World would have been a better album closer, or even Teardrop.
  4. Teardrops would have been great with an extended drum outro for an ending.
  5. Yeah Teardrop would have been a great closer for that album. All those interludes piss me off too. None of them are the least bit necessary.

Sort of agree. The preludes are good build up to the songs and should stay but could've been mixed into the tracks that they support. I don't see why shaving 30 seconds of the start of a track is beneficial.
  7. Yeah I'm with you guys on that one. They should've just been included as intros to the songs. It'd be like taking the intro and outro of Streets and calling them their own tracks, kinda weird. "Oh my god I hope they play M.M.I.X tonight! I LOVE that song!"
  8. +1
  9. As long as we're all around, does anybody think Red Hill Mining Town is a boring song? It doesn't really go anywhere in my opinion. It's slow, and it never "takes off" as far as I'm concerned. I think a song like Silver and Gold, or even something like Deep In The Heart could've been much more interesting in that spot on The Joshua Tree. Maybe it would've benefited from a live treatment, maybe not. It's not a BAD song by any means, I still listen to it when I spin JT, but I still think it's a bit boring.
  10. I love Red Hill Mining Town. Mainly because of Bono's powerful vocals. Shame it was never played live, and it will never be played live unfortunately

They're powerful, but he has powerful vocals on much better songs in my opinion!
  12. Actually, that's a good question to ask: what is everyone's worst track on The Joshua Tree? I can't decide...
