I also heard the Johnny Cash cover of One for the first time, when my English teacher put on some music. It only took a few seconds for me to realize it. Great song, great cover, and man, why didn't Johnny Cash cover Please like Elvis Costello did? That deep singing voice sounds like it would go well with the "September, streets capsizing" verse.
