  4. I was supposed to learn to drive years ago. On my birthday I was given money for 10 lessons from my aunt as my family insist that driving changes your life and improves it in so many ways - and I believe that.
    But it's the actual cost of driving and owning a car that has put me right off it. Insurance, fuel etc.... It's much cheaper for me to get the bus or train with my 20% student discount Y'know.

    Owning a car is damn expensive - and many of us "overuse" our cars. Wait as long as you possibly can to buy one - but I do recommend you get a licence, if possible. That said, I didn't get mine until I was almost 23 and I've always lived in Canadian suburbia, where public transit systems generally stink.
