That one! A friend of mine who's written/produced a few albums (which have actually gotten semi-popular in Japan believe it or not...) has used that one and it's sounded great, and it's a pretty good price (in comparison to some of the ones that I've considered)

And I think I'm going to record with Mixcraft 5. I actually really like it, it's super simple and works well for me! That being said I haven't tried Logic myself, so maybe I should give it a spin.
  2. Hey Bono! Dye your hair blonde!

It looks like a nice one. I've got an SE X1 condenser microphone. The original price was something like 4000 SEK... but it's gone down to 1000 SEK, so yours is a little bit more expensive. I like it a lot. Sometimes I wish I had a dynamic microphone as well though. Having a condenser can get REALLY annoying when there's someone else in the building making sounds, because they're so very sensitive. Be prepared to have some issues with unwanted sound on your recordings. I think I may get a Shure SM58 some time.

If you have an Apple computer... Logic is VERY nice I think.

    I actually don't have an apple I have a windows-based computer.

I have a shure SM57 too, it's what I usually record my guitar amp with and stuff. I think the AT2020 will work well enough, we plan on recording in my basement when no one else is around, so hopefully it'll be fine. But you're right, with everything comes a few problems that always need work arounds! We're ready for anything though!

Then I hope your computer is reliable. You don't want computer problems to ruin your recordings. A crash would be catastrophic.

The basement should be good! You've gotta watch yourselves too. Very small movements sometimes gets picked up. And if you wanna record vocals as the same time as you're playing guitar or something... you're totally screwed with a condenser That's another reason why I want a dynamic mic as well.

Good luck with the album, it's very hard to actually get something together. I've tried. I imagine it's a big help to have someone there to kick your ass though.
  6. Can you come over and fix mine? Or are you only married to your own? lol
  7. As if Apple computers are honestly more reliable than a Windows system
  8. Times my roommate's Apple computer has been sent in for a repair: 2
Times my Dell has been sent in for a repair: 0

For every file he downloads I probably download 10, and for every website he visits I probably visit 20. My computer is far more susceptible to malware than his with the way I use the internet, and his machine and OS has failed him twice. Hard drive even wiped the first time.
  9. The durability of the actual physical casing is something I admire about Apple, though. Otherwise it's an unfortunately widely believed rumor that Apple products don't get viruses. Biggest eye roll of the new millenium.

I could do another comparison between the PC we had and the Apples we have now. But that wouldn't even be fun.

Why do you think professional studios and musicians seem to like Apple so much?
