1. I'm not using normal computer speakers.

Drew: On the punchiness thing, maybe it's just that you have normalizing on in iTunes?
  2. Nope. These albums shouldn't have too much power to them given they're digital transfers from 1970 and 1936.
  3. I don't pay more than a few dollars for music that's been out for a year or two. Amazon used, baby. CDs for 2 bucks or under, and 2 bucks for shipping.
  4. I think the most I ever paid was $25 for an Alice Cooper album from 1983.

If only Amazon shipped cheaper - same with eBay.
  5. Here we go.........its the refreshrefreshrefresh game.

I pay a little bit more than you then... But not that much. I'd never pay the insanely steep prices that record stores have for new CDs here. I like 5 pounds new on Amazon UK, and then I order so much that I'll get free shipping (over 25 pounds).

Drew: Do you have normalizing on in iTunes? I just found out where to turn it off
  7. If I don't know where it is, likely it's not on. (EDIT: Soundcheck on? No. Always off. Made my music way too loud and clippy).

Again - good luck on Lolla!

It's on automatically... in the settings, on the second tab, named something like "playback" (I'm translating from Swedish here) the third checkbox is named "Sound control"-ish... That's normalizing.
  9. Yep definitely off.
  10. COME ON LOLLA PUT THE DAMN TIX UP ITS 3 MINUTES PAST
  11. Just looked at Lolla's Ticketmaster site - god they're slack.
  12. Well, I'm satisfied with the sound of my Apple Lossless rips... maybe it's better now than five years ago when you told me you did your last rip.
