1. Yeah, and get that walrus-looking bastard to investigate it thoroughly.

  2. Maybe neck bend is more of an issue with a ukulele since the neck is not as robust as it is on a guitar. And the strings are tuned to a higher pitch.

  3. Nothing wrong with getting information from potatoes. I heard they are an intellictual form of reliable information.

Have you listened to the Jagged Little Pill album?

Sure I have. Jagged little great album pill

Yeah, I had read that too, long time ago. Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ironic_(song) ) says:

Although the lyrics present several situations which are said to be "ironic", it has been noted by some commentators, including comedians and satirists, that these situations were not truly ironic, earning critiques and parodies as well as corrections to make the situations actually "ironic".

    and

The song's usage of the word "ironic" attracted media attention for an improper application of the term, because according to Jon Pareles of The New York Times, the song gives a distinct "unironic" sense in its implications.[5][6] According to the Oxford English Dictionary "irony" is "a figure of speech in which the intended meaning is the opposite of that expressed by the words used".[7] Thus, lyrics such as "It's like rain on your wedding day" and "A traffic jam when you're already late" are not ironic, but they fall into a "cosmic irony".[8] Morissette commented about the writing of the song: "For me the great debate on whether what I was saying in 'Ironic' was ironic wasn't a traumatic debate. I'd always embraced the fact that every once in a while I'd be the malapropism queen. And when Glen and I were writing it, we definitely were not doggedly making sure that everything was technically ironic".[8]

So yeah, that "cosmic irony" is what's it about.

Some people have way too much time. Looking into a song called ironic to see if ti's really ironic or not..

It is a great song btw, as is the whole Jagged Little Pill album. Got an used version of it last year for €1,99
  7. Yes, all that analysis is completely over the top in my opinion. The song is just great, and it could be called "bubblegum underground" and it still would be great Ah, the critics.
  8. +1 couldn't agree more!
  9. When it's an Alanis Morissette song, it's bound to have irony.

When a critic starts to delve into the song, it's ironic that they don't understand it. Maybe it should be also known as 'It is what it is'.

"An old man turned ninety-eight. He won the lottery and died the next day."

Poor turn of events. But it happens. What can you take from this irony? That shit happens.'
  10. A man who's been scared to fly his whole life, eventually finds his determination to take a flight and his plane crashes down... Shit happens.
  11. Well what can you do about your plane going down?

Nothing. Or you can jump. See how ironic that is - the irony is either way something's going to happen.

    Irony is defined as:

The expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect.

So are parts of the song there for the emphasis (coming up with the most ridiculous yet possible situations) or for a bit of humour?

(Now I feel like a critic). And as for 'shit happens', it was not meant literally. In the context of being ironic more so.
