Yes, it's called Labor Day here in the States. One day per year to acknowledge those who spend their lives working. Nice gesture even though many people in shops and restaurants don't even get the day off.
Really just a corporate gesture I guess. Gets us the day off school though.
Yeah. Street celebrations and all, just like your Labor Day. In fact, from what I'm reading, US authorities have been trying to change Labor Day to May 1st for years - they obviously didn't succeed
